I popped into this little shop after seeing the sign Craft Baker...
I bought a pack of 4 Eccles cakes
For Brown soft rolls
1 black coffee.
I walked into the shop at 9 a.m.
Completely on my own not a soul was seen in 7 minutes standing there...
Just about to walk out when the attendant spotted me.
Looking around and I didn't think it was a craft Baker, for first thing in the morning the counter display was scruffy and disorderly but benefit of the doubt and all.
Paid and left the shop and drove 10 miles down the road on my journey pulling in at a quiet spot...
First sip of coffee tasteless and very weak...it was hot though.
Time for an Eccles! Sadly wasn't up to satisfaction... extremely dry and the only real taste it had was a unpleasant perfume taste.. I had to throw the rest away.
I looked over at the brown rolls which were two stacked onto two in the Pack noticing with a sigh that the underneath two were burnt.
I cannot comment on any of the other produce but what I had selected was extremely disappointing.
If this is an example of good craft baking goods then this bakery isn't going to last very long.

Bakery has been refurbished. Due to this, there are NO customer toilet facilities, which detract greatly on our use of this business.
Best sandwich I have ever had. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful coffee and salted caramel yam. Highly recommended to anyone . Very nice staff as well.
OMG stopped off for a snack on our travels x the sausage roll and the scotch pie were very tasty but again OMG the small piggy cake was the best soft delicious cake ever.
Very disappointed. Went with a friend and there was practically nothing if you wanted a dairy free lunch, not that that is a particular issue, as long as there is something I'm happy. There was lentil soup and it was labelled as dairy free, so we ordered two portions with rolls. This were heated up in front of us in the microwave. The reason for the one star review, is due to the next two things.
The first I wasn't aware of till I left the bakery and was having my lunch. I said to my friend that the soup seemed a bit watery, and she said yes, that it had been watered down in the bakery in front of her. I presume this was because there was not enough soup for two. If they had told us this, we would have chosen something else, rather than have a cup of watery nothingness.
However my biggest issue was that when customers came in, after our order was started, they removed our soup from the microwave. placed the other customers order in the microwave and finished their order before putting ours back in the microwave. I find this absolutely unacceptable. I was also trying to ask the server to add butter to one of the rolls, as only one of us needed a dairy free lunch, but she was so busy talking to the new customers, who were obviously friends, that it was practically impossible to get her attention even though she was supposed to be serving us.
Had a beautiful sandwich, beat ever had, and thee staff were so so ????
Unfortunately the food left something to be desired, but the staff were very friendly and the cafe was quiet and pleasant.
Lovely cuppa and fancy piece
