After an early morning Otter spotting hike (unsuccessful) we decided to visit the Picnic Table for some breakfast. The weather however turned from clear blue skies to clouds and rain as we climbed up from the Sliddery direction, and the wind became too strong to light the stove. I'm glad we went though as I can tick it off on my list of things seen on Arran. Red Deer, Seals, Golden Eagle, Red Squirrel, and Picnic Table.
Great picnic table in a great location. We made a special trip because of all the good reviews and I can confirm we were not disappointed. If you're looking for a picnic table in the middle of nowhere, then look no further. There's a nice echo, too, if you're in the area.
The best picnic table we visited on Arran today
Another top Arran destination ticked off the list. Picnic table had slipped off its slabs so lifted it back up and enjoyed some refreshments. Would visit again.
We came to Arran and did a 30 mile detour off our intended route especially to find this picnic table and boy were we impressed. It supported the weight of four of us along with our cold pizza and last night's imported from Ardrossan KFC chicken sandwich perfectly, and even the midges stayed away.
One star off though because the only car to drive past in half an hour was inconsiderate enough to drive quietly past minding their own business, rather than sit down and join in our game of cards. Honestly...
Couldn't believe my eyes when I came across this beauty! Oak boards, wrought irons nails and a smooth finish brought me to my knees. Honest to god, once I sat down I didn't want to leave, Arran became my birthplace once I perched my bottom upon this magnificence. Would highly recommend!
Must see attraction! Beautiful view and was on a road that is great for a Sunday drive.
Very nice location. Comfortable, good place to cook up some noodles.
