Went here with friends for a Malaysian meal. The chicken dishes my friends ordered were good but the aubergines and broccoli in my aubergine curry were very undercooked (broccoli was raw, aubergines inedible). Really very few Malaysian options for vegetarians but the free sweet snacks at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Overall a bit disappointing as the reviews have been very good.
I went here 2 weeks ago with my partner as it was highly recommended by lots of Malaysian folks. The food tasted very authentic and delicious. The staff were very nice and friendly, they gave extra bits of snacks as it’s originally 5 for £4.50, but they gave us 8 for £4.50! We also did takeaway some of the food. They well-packed the food which made us easier to heat them up. We would definitely come back and try more food!
The food was very yum and quite reasonably priced. Good portions of food. If u really want to go for Asian curry and rice then this is highly recommended. The traditional chicken curry was interesting as well.
I’m delighted that my Malaysian friends / neighbours took me to this restaurant. The service was friendly and really quick and the food was amazing. The range of spices and flavours were a real treat. We shared several dishes giving me an opportunity to try different combinations. All dishes were outstanding. The owner is a lovely guy and so welcoming! It’s also great value, so a win on all levels!
Food was very tasty but my chicken leg was bleeding in the middle. Got another piece of chicken very quickly, but even that was only barely cooked in the middle. Drinks are cheap, but full of ice, not so much if the drink itself. Then again, what can you expect when everything is quite cheaply priced?!
I found this place due to TikTok and I hope they blow up, become super successful and open a bigger restaurant because they deserve it!
I crave laksa weekly and very picky. Theirs is the kind that hugs your belly, the spicy curry flavours coat your tongue and next thing you know your bowl is empty but you feel warm and satisfied.
The pad Thai is perfectly peanuty with a perfect amount of spice. Beef rendang was delicious and the beef was tender. Definitely get the kaya French toast, order two because you won’t want to share and pair it with a glass of teh tarik.
The service dropped to a 4 because although the laksa was delicious it wasn’t hot, it was warm and I feel like it would have tasted even better if they served it steaming. They also messed up the order of the beef rendang and when it came it was cold in the middle but my brother ate it anyway, so I can only imagine how much better it would have tasted if it was served hot.
Will definitely come back as I want to try the Nasi Lemak.
If you are missing Malaysian food and company, you must come to Java Fusion. Food is unfussy but delicious. Atmosphere definitely Malaysian! Try their 4-dish rice combo to taste a wider variety of dishes for just £9 (Jan 2024). But all the dishes are great.
Foods and services are absolutely top class. Typical authentical all variety Malaysian foods. Spoke to the owner all Malaysian spices are air freight to this restaurant. Price aren't too pricey and well worth many visits. Will go again when they supply air kachang and durian chendol next weekend!
