Staying nearby, so called in off chance. Despite being busy, they fitted us in.
Service was excellent, staff very friendly, and the food brilliant - genuine thick tomato soup, and the biggest pie I've seen. My wife had the veggie fajitas which were amazing, as few places have anything like this for veggies.
We were so full we just couldn't manage dessert. Obviously a first class chef. It's was worth the 250 mile round trip (we were staying nearby)
This place is AMAZING! The only thing better than the wonderfully friendly staff was the 5* top quality food. It's a shame it's out in the sticks but I guarantee its worth the trip. We had the steak in ale pie and gammon followed by various desserts and every mouthful was delicious. Even down to the quaint little touches like fresh flowers on the tables visiting this establishment was a joy.

Small selection of each course but beautifully prepared and tasted delicious.
We had just 2 courses starter prawn cocktail and main Roast beef and Nut roast.
The food here wowed and delighted everyone in our dining party.
The service was welcoming and friendly and we cannot wait to return and enjoy the amazing culinary food and service, that says "Welcome home."
Stuffed lamb - melt in your mouth, amazing combination of flavours.
Mushroom, cranberry & brie wellington, was a monumentous taste experience. Delicious & vegetarian.
If you've never been and you live nearby, I say "Try it!"
The cost of the meals was on the higher side but well worth the spend. You get what you paid for ;)
There is something on the menu for everyone's taste.
The bar is friendly and the people welcoming. There is a well maintained pool table and 2 dart boards for those who choose to play. I rate them a definitive 10/10

Friendly & welcoming (non local stopping over nearby for a night). The food was really top drawer & well priced, dog friendly and an open fire! You can't ask for more.
Really enjoy folk night every Thursday night love the food every is home made with there homemade chips are lovely the staff r very welcoming and so r the locals defo going in there again 5 stars xx
Tried this pub again for the first time in around 6 years. It's really improved and the Sunday lunch was delicious.
