Lovely cafe in the museum.
Had a great range of food choices.
Food portions are large and the quality is good.
Prices are, as to be expected, slightly on the high side but very much worth it.
The cafe was airy and spacious and very clean. The condiments were well stocked too.
The staff were lovely, clean and quick to help us.
Unfortunately there were no high chairs but, given the amount of space available, we could get the buggy to the table with ease.
The cake choice was impressive and delicious. We selected just under half of the available cakes and were all impressed.
Bought 3 sandwiches and some drinks. 25 pounds. Quite expensive but they have a captive market, the usual premiums.
Nevertheless, the food was far from premium, the chicken, bacon and mayonnaise sandwich to be completely disgusting, felt like a litre of cheap mayonnaise mixed with some ham alternative, two bites and in the bin. Decided to drink my flat white that I ordered and it was completely overheated, coffee burnt, mouth burnt. As far as I could see the food is made from the cheapest ingredients.
Lastly it wasba nice day and we noted plenty of tables outside and I thought about just putting it down to bad luck with the food for the sake of th family but then it became apparent why there was so many free tables the place is infested with wasps, kids going crazy worried about getting stung, aborted the tables and the others had a standing lunch. It is one of the most unpleasant lunches I have had in a long time and ruined the rest of the day having to leave the museum to get some food.
Not worth the money, the burnt mouth or the wasp stings. Plan your day.
The lunch herew far exceed our expectations. We're used to generally poor food at attractions but we're pleasantly surprised!
Food could be better for the price of it. Burger was really not great.
Staff friendly enough & service was fast! Ideal if your at the museum for the day!
????
The museum is great but the cafe poor value , £3 for a pot of tea and £6 for a buttie , not great quality either noting the online blue menu is out of date and prices are much higher. Plenty of places for a pic nic tho
Nice wee cafe. My wife and I visited with our son. Food was fresh and very tasty. We heard good reviews from my mother-in-law and we were not disappointed. Really enjoyed our lunch here.
Nice food and well presented. Nothing spectacular but certainly enough to fill hungry tummies. The toasties come with a good size side salad. Slightly pricey but no worse than other similar cafes at tourist attractions.
Fantastic day out at the museum itself but the cafe was the only let down. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. The people working there were polite and our order was brought out very quickly, hence the two stars , but overall cannot say it was worth the £37 for our meal for 2 adults and one child. We left most of it behind.
