Popped in to grab something quick, ended up with half the store, the choux buns and lemon drizzle cake are to die for as was the stake bake. Lovely friendly staff reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
We ordered a birthday cake last week and shared it amongst our family and friends - what a cake! If you want something special, this iced sponge cake was moist and delicious 10/10 - Thankyou Lauren for carrying it out to the car too!
Cannot fault the food - excellent fresh baguette purchased and the lemon cake was to die for!! Prices were near if not cheaper than fast food places and certainly filled you up more than their foods. The friendliness and humour of the staff made the purchase much greater. Would certainly return!!

This place might be one of the best bakeries in the country, and certainly have the best steak bake I've ever had. Other products always very high quality and tasty. Very reasonably priced. I always try to visit at least once whenever I'm in the area.
Fabulous window display of totally lovely bread, buns and cakes. I am not disclosing all my favourites or next time I visit they will be sold out :) The girls are so cheery and obviously proud of their shop and baked goods. I have been buying from Astills for nearly 50 years. The recipes and quality have always been consistently high. I think the prices are fair, you get what you pay for here - delicious treats yumyumyum!
This is probably the best bakery I've been to! They do some amazing mint and lamb pasties that are to die for and they definitely aren't stingy on the filling.
The lemon meringue tarts are the best I've ever had. Proper marshmallow like meringue on the top with a delicious lemon curd. If you haven't been here you are missing out. I would have uploaded photos, but the food was too good to leave in the box ????
