Do you have a special occasion coming up? Or maybe you're tired of mediocre food. Either way, head to Vito's in Harrisonburg for surprisingly authentic Italian food in a comfortable and gracious environment.
We celebrated a birthday at Vito's on a lazy Sunday afternoon and left knowing we'd found our go-to for subsequent Italian cravings. The "homemade mozzarella sticks" are NOT your typical appetizer fare and the hot honey whipped ricotta is as delicious as it sounds. We had salads, pasta, and hot sandwiches; everything was great. Looking forward to trying the pizzas on our next visit. Highly recommended when in the area.
Exceptional Italian dining in an out of the way location. Pasta was excellent with the shrimp scampi as a main and the bruschettas tart tomatoes a perfect starter. Friendly staff give it the feel of a family run neighborhood stop in and say hi to your gang kind of place. Will come back and try more on the authentic, tasty menu.
Went to this place the other night with my family and it was so good! The drinks were awesome and so was the food. The garlic knots are a complimentary, they are buttery and the marinara is so good. The Flirtini is really good as well and I recommend it as a nice alcoholic drink. Big servings so be ready to have an empty stomach before coming here! Service was really nice as well and I greatly enjoyed it. Definitely will be back when I’m around.
Great Italian restaurant. We all enjoyed our dinner and complementary garlic nots.
We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated immediately upon entering at a table by the window. Our server was friendly. Our calzone came out wrong, but it was still delicious. We ordered ricotta, meatball, grilled onions, and mushrooms. We got ricotta, ham, raw red onions, raw mushrooms, and very few meatball slices. The dough was so fat. It was so heavy on the dough and limited on the cheese and toppings. The complimentary garlic knots were so oily and stuck together. The marinara dip lacked in flavor. Was this from a jar? At least the marinara for the calzone had meat in it. It was better. Overall, our meal was delicious but not a great value for the money.
WOW! We've always enjoyed the pizza and subs from Vito's, but more recently opened our eyes to the pasta dishes. The Pappardelle Alfredo is oh so good and what a healthy serving. Great for a meal and late night snack or lunch the next day? A friend got Chef Giorgio's Gnocchi and I wish I had gotten a taste. It too was a large order that could have been two meals instead of one. Another friend got the Greek salad and that too looked very delicious. Definitely a great place to eat!
We stopped here as a dinner break while on a road trip and were so pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and our server was phenomenal. The food is fresh and flavorful, with many great and unique options. I had the salmon, which I highly recommend. My son had a pasta dish that had cinnamon as one of the ingredients (I don't recall the name of the dish), which was very delicious. We also shared the fried cheese sticks and loved them. I am disappointed that we didn't live nearby, but will definitely make it a point to visit Vito's again when we pass through.
My visit was phenomenal, myself and 2 friends each ordered an appetizer and entree, as well as each having a different cocktail. We all tried each other's food and drinks, and there was absolutely nothing to find at fault. Food was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were fantastic, as well as everything being reasonably priced. The blackened chicken special was great, chicken cooked perfectly, as well as the gnocchi and the tortellini entrees. On top of the excellent food, the service was some of the best I have ever received in almost any restaurant in the states. It's a six hour drive from me but I definitely plan on making the drive again, even if it's only for this place. Unfortunately I can't remember our waitresses name but she was fantastic. Highly, highly recommend.
