Incredibly slow service during a slower time. Waitress didn't know what she was doing, and no one helped her even though there were others standing around.
Slow to take the order. Then I didn't see her until our food arrived. We received one meal, then waited 5 minutes for the next person's, then another 5 minutes for the final person's food.
We received the wrong food, but we were hungry, so we ate it anyway.
Didn't see the waitress again. There were no refills given.
While this happened, we listened to another waitress complain about a small tip.
When we complained while paying, the employee at the register looked at the ticket and replied with a knowing smile and the waitresses name.
If you know beforehand that she is struggling, then get her some help.
Not a place to visit.
This place is great when you want some down home cooking! Great portion size, appearance of food, and tasted great. Was a little Busey when we went but was greeted in know time. Atmosphere was like being at a big family gathering. All different ages from old to the young , all seemed to be in gaged in great conversations and foods. Breakfast all day, many different varieties on the menu including lunch menu. Come hungry leave satisfied. But better come before 2pm. That is when they close, 2:00pm!
Best family restaurant in the county. In a steip mall with outdoor seating under a large covered walkway. BEST tenderloins in the state, biggest too. Plenty but not too much breadi g and very thick real pounded full tenderloins. Super value. I make 4 sandwhiches out of them. The walley is 3 huge pieces of perfectly cooked fish. They have best hash browns in town. All staff is very friendly. Lots of sides to pick and their side salad is 3x bigger than the comp with several ingredients.
It's the first time we went to the Village Inn. We honestly weren't expecting much at first. It's not in an ornate building and I've only heard about it by word of mouth. We decided to stop only because it was on our way and we were very happy we did. The place isn't fancy, just a hometown restaurant, but the food and service were both great. My wife is a lover of pork tenderloins and said that this was outstanding (ranks with the best she has ever had) . My hamburger and onion rings were great, best part was that no greasy food. The final bill was reasonable at $24 for both of us, including tax and tip. They also serve some of my wife''s favorites like chicken/beef liver. So, we'll be going back in the near future. Thank you to all the people who told me about the Village Inn.
My favorite breakfast spot! Servers are the best in town. The food is cooked to order and put in a reasonable time.
Sarah is the best at taking care of our to go order. They have the best biscuits & gravy around:-)
Quant spot favored by locals offers good down home cooking and small town hospitality. My wife and I had breakfast here on a whim while spending time in the area and we enjoyed the food enough to go back the next morning as well. The "Liars Bench" appeared populated and active.
If a hearty, homestyle breakfast is what you seek, Village Inn Restaurant in Bloomington is a destination that should be at the top of your list. This charming eatery has become a staple for locals and visitors alike, serving up breakfast delights seven days a week until 2 pm, making it a perfect spot for both early birds and brunch enthusiasts.
One cannot mention Village Inn without raving about their pancakes. These are no ordinary pancakes; they're colossal, encompassing the size of dinner plates, and cooked to a perfect golden brown. Accompanying these fluffy marvels are the hashbrowns, which achieve that rare balance of being satisfyingly crunchy on the outside while remaining soft and steamy within. For egg aficionados, the eggs over easy are a testament to the kitchen's attention to detail, cooked just enough so that the yolks are still runny, making for an impeccable dip for your toast. Further enriching the breakfast tableau is the delicious corned beef hash, a nostalgic dish that's becoming increasingly rare to find. Village Inn's version is perfectly seasoned and cooked, offering a hearty complement to any breakfast plate. One cannot forget to mention the biscuits and gravy. They taste like they were made from scratch, just like grandma used to make. Soft biscuits absolutely smothered in rich, creamy sausage gravy.
When it comes to beverages, Village Inn ensures that all tastes are catered to. Whether you prefer ice-cold orange juice to refresh your palate or a piping hot cup of coffee to warm your soul, Village Inn has you covered. Not to be overlooked, the restaurant also offers a selection of cold Coca-Cola products for those who crave the familiar, refreshing fizz as their breakfast accompaniment.
The culinary delights continue with the sausage gravy over soft, fresh biscuits, another standout, exuding the comfort of a home-cooked meal, reminiscent of the kind grandma used to make.
What truly sets Village Inn apart, though, is the warm and convivial service. The staff there is not just happy and helpful but exudes a genuine friendliness that makes you feel like part of the Village Inn family. They are attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that your coffee cup never hits empty and that your table remains uncluttered throughout your meal.
In conclusion, Village Inn Restaurant in Bloomington offers a breakfast experience that is both delicious and heartwarming. It's a place where the food is consistently excellent, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is welcoming. For anyone in search of that quintessential breakfast spot that feels like a home away from home, Village Inn is the place to be. It's a local treasure that serves up not just meals, but memories to savor long after the last crumb has been devoured.
