I love this GP practice - fortunately I have not had to use it often over the years. But, if you have an acute concern, or symptoms that require urgent advice, then you will be seen. I had the very best care and attention recently from my GP, and just cannot fault the reception staff. Plus, we have the luxury of a wonderful state of the art building in this area, offering additional facilities. I therefore really fail to understand the previous negative reviews and feel they are likely completely unfounded.
Love this practice but all this One Star goes to Bethany- the girl answering the phone calls, I've registered there with my family for more than 7 years now, always phoning in to get a doctor's appointment or to book any type of other appointments( checking blood pressure, etc…), but suddenly when called in today on behalf of my girlfriend ( at the time that practice is open she is at her work or is attending her Uni) which I am doing since day one.
But today Bethany is answering the phone and She decided that I can NOT book an appointment for my girlfriend anymore, why? Don't know, suddenly there is a problem and she will need to call herself, to book.
What's going on? Why ?
Today, I had an appointment at 16:00, and I arrived at 16:10. The incompetent receptionist made me wait for 20 minutes without telling the doctor I was there.
I always waited a minimum of 10 minutes before the doctor attended to me, and for the first time in my life, I was late—a total Disappointment.
I had to leave the practice without being seen because the receptionist deliberately decided not to advise the doctor of my presence. I'm a single mom, and I had to go to pick up my children in the nursery at Haymarket.
Extremely I don't recommend this medical practice. I'll try to move to the new one at the bottom of Leith Walk.
With a few exceptions, most of the staff are lovely & kind. Getting an appointment is a lottery though! One receptionist seems to be able to get you an appointment within a few days if it's urgent but there is another one, (I'm not going to name names because that's unfair) who can never find you one without *at least* a 2 week wait & doesn't seem to understand potential emergencies...this was even the case when I phoned the day after I had had to call an ambulance out! It's a huge loss to the Practice that Dr Connie Swenson isn't there any more.
I'm registered with this clinic for the GP. I've been there for the Covid vaccine booster in 2021 and the staff was very nice and welcoming!
Had a few appointments with the GP as well throughout these years, with Dr Swenson, and I must say she is super nice and professional.
Same feedback for the blood test, staff is always smiling. Love that :)
Absolutely amazing, from the reception to the doctor. They’ve been very kind and very helpful with my situation. Unfortunately I moved to another area and I need to looking for another GP but 100% recommend it. Thank you very much for all your help.
You are more likely to get an appointment with the recently deceased than you are with a doctor at this surgery. Reception do all they can to fob you off. Had to go private, seen online and prescription done same day. Scottish NHS = down the toilet.
I have been with fever for eight days straight now, with high blood pressure. I tried to get an urgent appointment. It was rejected because I did not have a negative PCR test.
Did the PCR test, came out negative, called to get the appointment and surprisingly, I was refused to come in. “A doctor will call you, and give your consultation over the phone.”
