They are liars I sent my Son to the shop to see if they had my tire. I had a blowout on the freeway. They told him. Yes I called when I was on my way with the tow truck. They told me yes I asked again once I got there they told me yes once it was time to put the tire on they said they don’t have it they sold it. I need to buy a new one. It went from $60 to 130 then they told me I need it my rim bent also I couldn’t find my key lock so they told me they can take it off for me. I agree with them telling me I can use the lock again after not being able to put a tire on because I refuse to buy a new one for 130 expecting to only pay $60 he told me I cannot use my lock and allow me to drive off with only three working lugs. This place is a rip off they are liars and very unprofessional, and only thing they was worried about was me giving them their receipt back to prove they didn’t do the work
???????????? Horrible experience And This review is from my experience with UNIVERSAL TIRES AND RIMS DETROIT.
First they broken my environment control motor, second as you can see in the picture this is how they repair my muffler that they charged my $400 meanwhile the muffler weight put pressure on vehicle front drive shaft and rips it off

i came in to have some work done on my car on 3/16/24…they told me i needed struts and shocks on my truck …they did the work on my car charged me $1240 to fix that …the initial reason i brought the car in was because it was making a noise which i was told i needed struts …after they so called fixed it he took me under my truck to show the new parts then say omg we missed this part which was my trailing arms …and said it would be another $600 to fix that …How do you not fix the actual problem then tell me i needed struts when that could have waited ..another shop looked at it and told me they made it worse by putting those new parts on there before fixing the actual problem i would never go back or recommend this place in life now i’m out of $1240 for nothing
They fixed my car nice and quickly, great customer service. My sub frame, rack and pinion were rotted away they repaired it efficiently
9/30/2022 @ universal thinking it would be a match made in heaven it was not.
10/16/2022 before universal opened I was there to inform them do not do any additional work only work already paid for.
I was told on Monday they had dropped the tank some of the work staff are habitual @ not telling the truth.
I Said to front office you have cameras therfore it will show me there on monday if they dropped the tank after I left.
Also if I bought all my own parts it would have saved me over $600.00 + .
We've contacted BBB and additional state regulations concerning this unforseen situation.
Universal said needed gastank because of leak it's @ shop to check if that was the case.
Bought 4 new tires what's wrong with this picture from Universal this nightmare doesn't end.
Gas tank pressure checked passed pressure test didn't need gas tank replaced.
Nightmare that keeps on giving or shall I say taking..
Bought 4 new Goodyear real tires 11-29-22 with warranty, returned universal tires told to take them with me I left them.
Also when I suggested universal look @ their cameras because I stated do not do anymore work on my car and they did it anyway I was told in a very loud alpha male voice I don't have to prove anything to you that's when I said not doing this I disconnected the call without a goodbye.,
Leak around the filler neck .
The service was pretty quick there i had two tires put on and front break pads which took about an hour 15min.
I've only been there once. My tire place sent me there because they don't do patches. Universal does patches. I was in and out in about 30 minutes.
Did good work, they have awesome mechanics and a great welder. Prices aren't bad either.
