We recently hosted our wedding at the Shop Shop, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we approached the Union Joint catering staff on Oct 31 for our December 31 wedding, we were met with exceptional service. Chris, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. On the big day, the staff, including Jamie, Liv, and Rhonda, were incredibly professional and attentive, impressing not only us but all of our guests. The food was outstanding, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. Our special day was truly magical, thanks to the wonderful team at the Shop Shop. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable!
The famous (locally) woodshop. An all around good restaurant. The Mac & Cheese is well known, but other less known good dishes are the smoked chicken and wood sticks. They also have many great craft cocktails. The only downside is the higher price.
First time ever here. I will surely be going back again. The food is phenominal. Pulled pork is perfect. The sauces are perfect variety to choose from. The waitress was amazing at helping me choose what to get. She said the mac and cheese was good. It was 10 out of 10.
I am emotioanl writing this. The Union Woodshop was absolutely one of the best places we have eaten and will go back again and again. My husband is a 100% disabled veteran and has an ADA licensed service dog. We have been illegal discriminated against with the service dog at various public places. The Union Woodshop was 100% in compliant and every single staff member was trained and completely ignored the seevice dog and made the meal better than we could have imagined. We drove 25 mins from one bad restaurant just to come back to the Union woodshop and I thanked the manager for the amazing restaurant, food, and staff that has us feeling comfortable and welcome!
Food was just okay. the brisket portion was very small, and ribs were dry. Pulled pork sandwich was nothing special.
We ate at the bar at 5:30 on a Friday night. We got seats right away, and it seemed to get busier a bit later. The bar is beautiful but very poorly lit. It was such a beautiful day but the restaurant was so dark! My husband got the ribs and seemed to enjoy them. I had the white meat smoked chicken. The chicken was tender but could have used more smoke and lots more seasoning. I am not a fan of simple foods. The sauces were average. The hottest sauce was sweet, and I was not a fan. They had a variety of sauce from mustard to teriyaki with no spice to a little kick. I didn't love any of them. The collard greens were really well seasoned and cooked perfectly. They were not too soft and not too crunchy. The coleslaw was only red cabbage with a light vinegar type sauce. It was also lacking luster for me. This was not my favorite place, but we are rarely out that far north and probably won't be back for years. It is not on my destination list.
We came in on a Thursday night. Our party of 3 got right in and our sever, Jay came right over. He was friendly and engaging and very familiar with the menu. We ordered the pulled pork, brisket and the sweet potato burrito. Max b cheese and tater tots were our sides of choice. The food came out just as we ordered. Hott fresh and tasty. If bbq is your thing, you’ll find a variety of sauces on the table. All in all a good experience! Will definitely come back!
My 13-year-old aspiring chef described it best, this place is flawless. The food and service were incredible - shout out to our server, Yancy! We live a little over an hours drive away and will definitely make the trip back. Thanks for having us!
