I really enjoyed this, the fish is So juicy and tender, the fries are next level. Very recommended!
The last visit at this place I was slightly disappointed as the chips were very dry and overcooked

Don't go to many chippies but I've been going to uncle jims for years never had a bad bit of food, staff are all very friendly, donner kebab is the best
Been 3 times now it’s my local chippy. All 3 times the chips have been undercooked to the point where my wife now refuses to let me buy chips from here. It feels like they’re just rushing to get them out as quickly as possible which I don’t understand as it’s never super busy. I thought maybe it’s just not to our taste but last night I had a mate over (as wife wont to eat from there anymore) and within a couple chips he said they weren’t fully cooked. Some of the larger chips were still hard in the middle. If I lived closer I would have taken them back. Shame as fish is very nice and very friendly staff.
love it so much ! doner kebab is always tender and its amazing with some lettuce and garlic mayo. the chips are always so good and theres so much flavour. the sausages are also really good . a bit greasy, but thats to be expected. and the cod is amazing. the skin is always crispy. over all, 5 stars.
We revisited Uncle Jim's Bar and the fish & chips are still decent size. The staff is still friendly & professional, unfortunately the quality is not the same. The fish was very oily (I get it that is deep fried) and we couldn't taste anything other then veggie stock taste!? I hope it was a mix up and when we go next time the delicious taste that we know is back
It’s so inconsistent here that’s the problem. Sometimes the chips and kebabs are great and other times they are not. Battered sausages, saveloy and curry spring rolls are always on point though. It’s peters pies here not pukka. Prices have gone up more than once in a short amount of time but that seems to be the case everywhere . If they can sort out getting their food to be the same every time I’d be a much more regular visitor.
i used to come here all the time but unfortunately there was a hair in my food !!
