A beautiful location, owners are very nice. But extremely expensive for what it is. 2 toilets and a cold shower (m/f). There is a charge for everything, and a rule book that is pages long, pitches aren’t allocated and it’s a free for all in one large field. I’ve paid nearly £120 for 3 nights two ppl and a 2 year old and haven’t even had a shower or been able to wash up properly. IMHO, a lot of money for very little more than a field with close access to a beach.
What a find, owners very helpful and welcoming, we was passing through and originally was only looking at booking 1 night but we ended up stayed on 2 nights. This camp site is basic no hot water but does have showers and toilets and waste and water access, for us it couldn't have been anymore perfect. It's right on the coastal path which we was walking, with private coves and beaches, which we swam in both mornings we sat in the evening watching the sunset, we was also graced by seals well out swimming. It's a hot spot for fishing and paddle boarding, but was quiet with only campers on these coves. Was absolute bliss for us. What a stunning part of the world to live. We will definitely be back for longer. ????
Laurence and Marcia went out of their way to help us with our campervan woes this time we visited. Offering us helpful advice and use of their phone to call various garages and even tgeir family members for help. I can't thank them enough. The site is beautiful and right on the Pembroke coastal path, next to a fabulous beach and National Trust coastline. Simply stunning.
We stayed one night with a tent while walking the Coast path.
Pros: we had a flat spot for our tent and got some wind shelter, the price of 14£ for both of us was the lowest we had on the trip, communication with the owner by phone was good and uncomplicated, close to the beach
Cons: that showers are cold is communicated, so you can't complain about it. But that there is neither soap nor toilet paper is not communicated. Also there should be light in the toilets from 6am on but when we were there around 9am there was no light. In the shower there is nothing where you can put your clothes, next to the water tabs the wind takes it away because there is no door to the facilites. I see that for this price you can't expect perfect facilities, but still you expect the absolute basics.
Summary: for one night okay, but not for more
Alastair’s negative review says more about him than the campsite. Do you want a quiet site, with no risk from from fires in adjacent hay fields? Lovely spot, highly recommended.
Saw this camp site from the national trust car park right by the beach , seamed to have lots of room there only a few in the field we wanted to camp.. but when asked to book in for the night was told fully booked !! Which was a load of old cobblers lol .. you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, we have a minibus conversion which cost over 15k to convert. inside looks a million bucks but outside doesn’t yet … hence being judged .. but after reading some of these reviews we had a lucky escape ..
My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our dog in September and we loved it. Lawrence and Marcia were super helpful and really kind. It is quiet and in the most fabulous location …rise early and go for a swim on the most beautiful broad haven beach just a five minute walk.
The walks from here are fabulous and the local bus does a drop off and pick up service driven by the super friendly Gordon .
We are used to wild camping so the lack of hot water didn’t bother us. We loved how quiet it was, truly relaxing, no loud talking into the night, no music playing and ruining the beauty of natures sounds all around you.
If you like to be up all night, if you enjoy your fires til very late then no this isn’t for you…. But if you love nature and respect that others want to enjoy peace and quiet then this is perfect if you enjoy wild camping and can’t find anywhere local then this is the campsite for you.
Sit outside, read a good book with a nice drink watch the sun go down… perfect!
We loved the place. Location is great. Owners are very nice people. Vigilant in a positive way to keep an order in the campsite which we liked very much. They were always smiling and very friendly. Having been to some rowdy, noisy campgrounds before we liked the campfire curfews and had very good sleeps at night. It seems like right kind of people are attracted to this site as people we came across at this campsite were very respectful to others. There are two toilets per gender and they are very clean. Broadhaven beach nearby is wonderful. Very good campsite but certainly not suitable for big groups who would like to socialise late into night. Probably not a very suitable place of night owls in general. For us though it was wonderful.
