First time here and I had a great experience, just look at these nails. I asked to take off my previous set and go to my natural nails and I couldn’t be more happy.
I've had two negative experiences here, once last April and the last visit earlier this April. Last year I scheduled an appointment for a basic manicure and pedicure. While getting my manicure the owner Tina came over and used a nail dremel on my natural nail and put polish on as if this was a manicure. A week later I noticed that the nail dremel dug deep divots in my nail bed that took months to grow out and be normal again.
When I scheduled another appointment this April for a manicure and pedicure, the same owner asked if I just wanted polish and I let her know that I wanted a full manicure. When I set down, she pulled out the nail dremel and I told her that I did not want that and she told me "No. I will due this just a little bit." At this point I just let her in hopes it was a different experience but it was not. It once again dug into my nail bed destroying my healthy natural nails. She then sat me to get a pedicure.
During my pedicure two teenagers walked out without paying which was upsetting to see so I wanted to make sure that the woman doing my pedicure was tipped well. I decided to not get the manicure since I was so upset about my nailbeds being destroyed again. I paid $70 for the mediocre pedicure ($50 pedicure and $20 tip) and skipped out in the manicure.
Using a nail dremel is a quick and easy way out of getting your cuticles removed without putting in the effort of an actual manicure. This is not healthy for natural nailbeds. Since it seems the replies to reviews are never owning up to their mistakes, I don't expect anything out of this review other than warning others going in for a natural manicure to NOT allow them to use the nail dremel.
Tina's got us in as a walk in after being stood up for an appointment made down the street. Everyone was polite and worked with me on my design. I was shown many cool items they have for designs and I can't wait to go back.
Today I had an appointment at 11:30 am. When I arrived two police cruisers were blocking the entrance, upon my entrance to the parking lot, I saw a Black couple speaking with the officer's, however I proceeded inside. Tina husband was speaking to the police. I sighed in & stated that I was moving my car when the police left. Tina husband could have explained that before I moved car, right?Well he waited told me that Tina had a 12p. OK I'm here & my appointment was at 11:30.
I felt racially profiled today. Thanks but no thanks! I WONT Rt...
I wouldn’t recommend this place. My experience was with the owner who was very rude and disrespectful. My first encounter with her was being told she was hungry. She asked what style I wanted and her response was, “good, that will be quick.” She put on my full set in less than 5 minutes. This resulted in crooked nail placement and poor nail filing. She asked what color I wanted and within 10 seconds repeated that statement. I picked a color and she painted 3 nails. I looked down and noticed the color was substantially different than the one chosen. When I said something she got very rude and frustrated. She started huffing and puffing and yelling at me. She was beyond rude. It got to the point that I was like you don’t have to do my nails. I told her I own a business and I just can’t yell at people. She never apologized and honestly seemed to care less. She stopped doing my nails and left outside. An older lady finished them. She was nice but the nails we really subpar. They look like I could do this on my own. I’m never going back. My paint is not even to the bottom. The nails are bulky. This just looks a mess.
Do not go here.
I went to get my dip taken off and a plain gel manicure.
She used the dremel like tool and used so much pressure on my nails that they are now paper thin. Everything she did was awful. I don't think she's had any training and spoke zero English. She hit my skin FIVE times with that rotory tool. Her shirt was filthy with something spilled on it, and it looked like it had been worn a week. Save yourself.
Do not go !!!
And to the owners response,
I have had hundreds of maicures with Gell polish and Dip , I am 68 years old !
So they all use the tool to help remove the top layers. Not one has ever hurt me as your lady did.
I mean hit my skin 5 times.
Once she put something on one of the times.
She was not waiting long enough for the acetate remover to even work.
I had called to see if your business used an autoclave machine to sterilize tools used.
You, "The owner" assured my the tools used were sanitized .
The lady giving me the " manicure" pulled aout a plastic box with everything in the world in it, and rifled through till she found some nippers. I refused to let her use that dirty tool. That is not what I call sanitization. Needless to say it was an awful experience. My nails now only 2 weeks later have had to be cut really short they were so thin and splitting. I would say get you salon together if you want to keep doing business.
She gouged my nails and went way lower than anyone had ever done.
I did not say in my original post
Tina's is the best place to go to get your nails done in the Hampton area!!!
Thank you for my spring nails. I am happy because I am a very picky person and they always suit my needs.
