Best KPortal Reviews
Was extremely excited about visiting this place from its appearance. The cooking staff further excited me. Upon entering you have to pay for all your food and drinks before sitting down was odd but not unusual. Was very busy so not having prompt weight staff wasn't an issue given that situation. One of my pet peeves has always been regardless to how busy a place is they should at least have water for you and your drink full which I didn't experience any of those things. I ordered a three taco beans and rice dinner with an horchata. The steak meat was great with lots of flavor but my chorizo was extremely gritty and pasty The tortillas were raw and not cooked and having to pay $4.50 extra for chips and salsa. Upon receiving my meal they served the beans and rice in the same small container as chips and salsa. Don't let giving bad reviews and wouldn't mind giving it a second shot but the most reason for my one star review was our cook coughed sneeze and wipe her nose throughout the whole experience never turning her head (well most of the time ) changing her gloves or even wearing a mask all while everyone was watching and over everyone's entire food that was being made by looking at the pictures the food looked great. Wasn't the greatest experience for the price of $50 and some change
Came here for the first time and was very happy we did! Love the food. The tacos are not only authentic, but so darn good! We had the Asada, Al Pastor, and Quesabirra tacos. Oh my goodness! The tortillas are freshly made and both corn and flour are so tasty! Fantastic flavors for their sauces too. You have to try this place out. I know I'll be back. Probably more than I should ????
Really cool place! Food was good and the staff was helpful and friendly! Tacos were good, the chips and salsa were the best I’ve had in a while!! It is a little overpriced, but the food and quality was really good.
EAT HERE! This is the place — it will be your new favorite! Fun murals and atmosphere, fabulous owner & staff, delicious authentic tacos, homemade tortillas, generous portions…I could go on!! The barbacoa, birria, and asada are my go-to meats; so tender and delicious. Each of the three salsas I tried was packed with flavor!
Sunday dinner for seven. Ordering meals was quick but almost everyone made some sort of change to the standard as outlined on the menu. As a Texan, I will rate this as California Mexican food and set my expectations accordingly. Everyone raved about the meals and the food all arrived on time hot and ready. There were not any back and forth about missing things and the portions were big. I had the San Diego burrito minus a few things. It was more than I could eat. Overall a good experience and I would recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite of something different.
Came to Tia Juana because of the great reviews, but it must’ve been an off night. It was an interesting experience to say the least...
Have videos of the chef/line cook behind the counter who was constantly coughing, sneezing and sniffling. She and the other chef were obviously sick but continued to sneeze and cough all over the food as they were preparing it. She had no regard to anyone around her or the food she was preparing for others. She also wore the same gloves the entire time I was there. I get that it is a small place with limited staff, but please stay home if you’re sick!
Tortillas were very undercooked.
Chicken was dry.
Chorizo was very gritty.
Salsa had a ton of lime juice in it. Very tangy.
$50 bucks for small portions of chips, 2 three taco meals that came with very little beans and rice. I couldn't even finish mine because the tortillas were too doughy and I was too grossed out by the chef sneezing and coughing everywhere..
Asada and the Horchata were the only menu items that were decent.
Very disappointed and feel sick to my stomach
Authentic Mexican food with counter service. High quality ingredients with generous portions. Guacamole made when you order and the best I have had since I was in Mexico. You won't leave hungry for a moderate priced meal.
Authentic mexican food! This place was wonderful and the service outstanding. We were 5 and the manager took care of us immediately, he put us together on a table and recommended the best dishes in the place.
There were a few things that I've never seen before in another places like the chiricuaso. We tried many things but the best were the choriqueso dip with chips, the quesabirria and chiricuaso with carne asada ???? also they have many jarritos flavors which I loved! (Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the food, but I guarantee they were spectacular with great presentation)
Additionally, I adored the artwork on the walls, adding a vibrant and cultural touch to the overall atmosphere. I'll be coming back for sure ????
