I had no idea that this spot was right under our nose this whole time! Best bbq I've had in Colorado hands down, fall off the bone ribs, juicy brisket and some fire potato salad and that's just some of what I've had so far! These two are bringing back the BBQ!

This brisket is out of this world. I was driving through town and stopped in for takeout. All of their barbecue sauce is homemade and exceptional. I wish I lived closer so I could have this every week. So good! Highly recommended.

Neat little place on Broadway, downtown Penrose. The wife loves BBQ so we stopped to give it a try. She was pretty happy with her pulled pork and brisket. My hamburger was good. The husband and wife team that owns it are super friendly. Nice to see a couple working together and providing something like this.

Wonderful BBQ and burger joint. Good service and food. BBQ is darn good, and thats coming from someone from South Carolina.

Nice charming country store feel, super friendly staff, and outstanding prices.

If your passing through Penrose definately do not miss a chance to visit and have some great food.

While heading to Dakota Hot Springs we passed This n That BBQ Shack and decided to give their Colorado BBQ a chance. These Texans were not disappointed!

We had 2 Sloppy Joes and their Loaded Fries. Fork tender and very juicy chunks of pork that fell apart, covering fries cooked to perfection and spread out so every fry was covered with delicious cheese. The meaty Sloppy Joes were a good suggestion from our waitress who was fast, friendly and took the time to listen to my partner's rather extensive list of bad puns. Best $15 I've spent on food for 2 people in a long time and we will definitely be returning whenever we're in the area.

The people and atmosphere are wonderful. The wait staff are gracious and other customers, welcoming.

The BBQ was some of the least enjoyable I've had. I paid 18 for a mixed meat plate. Brisket and ribs. What I got was a soggy bland mess. I was so confused that I even asked the cook if they had given me pulled pork by mistake. They replied that it was in fact brisket and everything is pulled.

There was no discernible smokey taste and absolutely no smoke ring on either the ribs or the brisket. When I ask the owner about it they told me that it is their special brine. In my opinion they are soaking their meat way too long and are essentially serving boiled meat. But to each his own. I'm used to I'm dry rub with a flavorful rind and a smoke ring....

I'm sure they serve a very welcome part in the community.

Homemade and delicious! We had the smoked meatloaf, potato salad, baked beans and lemonade, all made in-house. They also have several house-made sauces. The two we tried were top-notch. We will definitely be back!
