This cafe is set in beautiful surroundings and is dog friendly. There is also a fully fenced dog park which I used.
The menu appeared over priced especially the breakfasts. The service was OK but it should be table service as the small counter was full of people queuing and it was a bit chaotic near our table. Service was OK.
I had a vegetarian breakfast which was £9.98 it had a tablespoon of beans, one small grilled tomato and ONE sausage (see pic) I swapped my egg for an extra hash brown so i had 2. In my opinion it was overpriced for the small portion that was on the plate. Might go back and try the homemade lunches on the menu.
Everything is overpriced these days but that breakfast was not worth a tenner.
Recently camped at Sandwich Lakes & thoroughly enjoyed the food at The Waterside Cafe over our stay. We had fab breakfasts, as well as great tea, coffee & hot chocolates. The location is fantastic & the atmosphere really special; everyone-staff & other customers-were really friendly & welcoming. We have family who live locally who were unaware of the Cafe but have said they will definitely be back now. Dog & family friendly. Totally recommend.
I don't leave bad reviews but - Unfortunately after 3 attempts with family and friends to get a decent breakfast, service and maybe even our toast or cutlery all together without having to go back and ask for it, hard eggs, cold sausage, wobbly tables I made the mistake of going again with someone else who suggested it. Exactly the same service.
Its a shame as its a lovely location but after this many visits I won't be going back again.
Breakfast 23.3.24. staff were pleasant and polite, food was excellent quality and presented well, coffee ( latte ) was splendid. absolutely 10 out of 10 and will return for more. as a self confessed moany old git, I was a little disappointed that I had nothing to moan about ! well done Waterside.
Food was alright. Need to pay attention to orders and how's its cooked. But it was a lovely place to eat.
Another wonderful independent cafe. Will be gorgeous in the summer! Lots of outside seating, patio heaters and rain shelter. A wood burner inside is perfect for this weather too ????
Didn't have items on menu, ordered something else instead, says comes with chunky chips. Chips were skinny chips and not all that nice. Was told by surly staff member that ' we only do one sort of chips' was a wet and windy day and staff member kept leaving door open causing cold draught. Roof was also leaking, water on floor mopped up with a tea towel. Completely opposite experience to previous visits, hope it was a one off this time.
Lovely setting by the lakes.
Service was great.
Breakfast cooked to order with good quality produce.
Highly recommended and you don't have to fish.
