This cafe was recommended to us so as we were close by we thought we'd give it a try. We're glad we did. The food was first class.. Very nice friendly staff. We bought some home made bread to take out. We like fresh bakery bread and buy it quite often. I have to say the granary bread was the best we've ever had and at our age that's saying something. Well done.
Fantastic place in Buckley, offering great food and a very warm welcome. We loved the little dog treats which were free for our pooches. My BLT was lovely, with home made coleslaw. My daughter had a Tuna sandwich from the kid's menu, a delicious looking hot chocolate and a pana chocolate. Everything was perfect.
The staff are all very friendly and professional and the place has a nice chilled atmosphere, with tables and a lounge area.
This is my new favourite local breakfast and lunch spot. I have my next meal planned - Eggs Florentine :)
Try and visit every few weeks, usually have the soup and always ask for granary roll/bread which is superb. Have tried many flavours, never been disappointed. Followed by an Americano. Lovely staff, love the ethos of the business too
I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Rise today with my 5 grandchildren, aged 2 to 11 , my husband , my 2 daughters and a son in law. We had the private room which was great for the children , who enjoyed playing card games, and chess to keep them amused. Staff were all polite, welcoming and helpful. It was so nice and relaxing , would highly recommend the Rise for a family get together , thankyou to all the staff, hope to be back soon????
Visit regularly for coffee but yesterday was treated by my daughter to afternoon tea and it was absolutely delicious. Lovely sandwiches with home made bread and gorgeous homemade cakes! The staff are so friendly can't recommend this place enough just brilliant and plenty of parking !!!
Won't lie, when this place was recommend to me, my usual street view recce left me less than excited.
However... On arrival, plenty of space for the car. Once in the building, it is open, fresh and clean. We were welcomed and we took a seat, and in a few minutes we were ordering a reasonably priced breakfast.
The bread (made in bakery on site) was pure class, the bacon and sausage was decent quality and to top it off the poached egg was bang on the money... perfect.
Was not that busy, it's distance from centre of town may be a factor, but well worth the 5min walk or 1min drive. Will visit again to try their lunch selection in the near future, hopefully I will see more customers then.
The Rise, located at Bistre Community Centre, Nant Mawr Rd, Buckley, is a cafe and bakery which services the surrounding community with its own produce and also a cafeteria whose menu extends to include a range of breakfasts, sandwiches and light lunches. We bought some focaccia to "examine" at home and were mightily impressed at the authentic flavour.
Absolutely fantastic cafe and bakery with lovely staff and amazing food.
It’s nearly a year since The Rise opened and it just gets better.
The food is delicious and home made with plenty of options for all tastes at very reasonable prices. The breakfasts are lovely but I wish they were served all day!
You can also buy freshly baked bread and cakes to take away at reasonable prices.
They also allow dogs in here which is great for dog walkers.
