Absolutely wonderful little cafe that has a family run vibe.
Breakfast was yummy.
Wait was a bit long but completely understandable as they mentioned that it was a lot busier than anticipated on a Monday morning.
All the staff were lovely, my only recommendation would be maybe have a second person behind the till who makes the coffees/serve cakes while the other one rings in the orders, then again they may already do this during periods they know will be busy. As I mentioned, it was busier than they anticipated.
Either way, if I’m in Matlock Bath again I will definitely come back!

Visited at 11:35ish following a great panto in the Grand Pavilion upstairs. Upon trying to order some food, we were told they had finished serving breakfast/brunch though they were still serving it to other tables and the sign states until midday and lunch from midday (misleading if this is not the case). We didn't leave but decided to order coffees and cake (the only food they had available). After a good 10 minutes I had to remind them of the order, to which at that point they started making it. We had higher hopes for this place, perhaps we will be back and they'll live up to that standard, but for now service gets a 1 star, food 3 star and atmosphere 5 star. I'll revisit next year and hope to give a positive update.

Great cafe next to parking lot, would recommend their breakfast options, delicious! Also strong coffee and lovely cakes. Friendly staff (esp to my kids!). A must visit if you’re in Matlock Bath!
We found this place after navigating past the myriad of fish and chip shops in Matlock Bath, in search of a decent hot drink and a sandwich. We were overwhelmed by the quality, portions and value for money. And the staff are incredibly friendly. A must visit if you’re in this neck of the woods.
The service experience at this establishment was notably subpar. Despite waiting for over 10 minutes with a colleague, the staff member on duty displayed a remarkable lack of acknowledgement. There was no greeting or even a simple acknowledgment of our presence, such as a brief 'Hi', 'Hello', or 'I'll be with you shortly'. This complete absence of basic customer interaction was quite unusual and disappointing.
Would not recommend. Waited 20 minutes..in no que to be served a coffee. Lots of staff bur only one young girl appearing to be ran off her poor little feet as no one else was helping. Even after the wait to be served..waited another 10 minutes for a takeout latte that was so gross my hubby threw it straight in the bin. Avoid.
Was having a coffee and food when a middle aged couple came in with a big ugly dog and a large Dalmatian and sat on the table behind us, we then had to endure these filthy animals, sniffing around our table, the owners who looked just like their dogs made no proper effort to control their slavering filthy animals.
Why they couldn't have sat outside with their dogs I don't know.
Not impressed with this growing trend of allowing dogs into eating establishments,
