We visited last Friday night around 6pm and waited for about 20 min for a table. The attendant was very helpful and amiable. The wait person was attentive. The appetizers were delicious and enough for three people. We had the tomato salad and the roasted carrots. One person had the hake fish and finished it, another had the fried chicken and found it a bit too sweet for them so only had a small piece of it but really liked the cornbread, and I had the cheeseburger which was okay. I didn’t care for the sesame bun, as sesame gives an off flavor for me. Overall the meal was good but to be honest way too expensive. Nothing was under $22 for a main meal.
This is a great place to eat and meet and talk with local folks. There's a jazz trio led by a friend of mine who teaches young kids how to play jazz. And, they are remarkably good musicians! The atmosphere is pure funk and delightful. The servers are terrific and very friendly. Go there. You won't regret it.
Enjoyed our drinks and dinner here. Got to eat outside under the string lights on a beautiful night. Make sure to show up early, as they do run out of items (we were the second round of guests and they were out of the steak). The menu has tasty vegetarian options, too. Would definitely consider coming back the next time we’re in GB!
Delicious fine dining in a cozy unpretentious setting. The restaurant is in an old restored large home. It was busy at dinner time but the staff was friendly and everything came out fast. They did accommodate my vegan wife with the roasted veggies plate and kohlrabi salad.
Rustic look in a historic house in Great Barrington. The menu was limited but what we tasted was excellent. I had a Wagu beef cheeseburger with fries that I loved. My friend had the special of grilled pork cheeks sauteed veggies and he was delighted. If I get back to Great Barrington, this will be repeat
Came here one night and quickly decided to eat here again the next night. They’re making some pretty special pizza here and using whole animals that they buy locally and butcher themselves. Menu changes daily, and everything we had was delicious.
I always have a delicious, cozy meal when I eat here. It is a must on my GB list. The food is consistently top quality and service is friendly. I really like the atmosphere. Thanks for being a special place for me and my husband!
Total disappointment!
I was in town visiting and stopped in due to good reviews. I ordered the fried chicken which was listed as being served with greens & corn bread with hot honey butter. The upside is the chicken was delicious, the greens were a pile of micro greens, undressed and the cornbread was cold and had little flavor with a very spicy butter. My son ordered the cheeseburger which was about the size of a half dollar and very dry.
The bartender never checked on us or our meals although he stood no more than 5 feet away the entire time.
I will not be returning.
