Wife went after being stuck at train station, very unwelcoming and less than helpful. When I went in to pick her up the barman didn’t say a single word while he served me! No wonder pubs are closing
Such a lovely pub always made to feel welcome everyone is friendly ????
Real pub with real characters, if you fancy a pint after a long day at work pop in. We need to keep our village pubs open and cannot afford to lose anymore.
Who ever runs this place needs a few lessons in customer service. Met with a huge sigh on arrival as we tried to take a seat in the beer garden following the guidelines. Clearly our faces didn’t ‘fit’ his poor, run down, lack of atmosphere pub. I’m really shocked that a ‘local’ pub that relies on locals to stay afloat, never mind make a profit, to be met with an arrogant, clearly uneducated man who didn’t want us there, we shell never be going again, and will strongly advise walking down the village and going to one of the other pubs.
I was there with my son and some of his friends to play pool. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of drinks was more than enough for my tastes. I had an excellent evening with my group as did they. I highly recommend The Old Oak.
Went there for a drink after leaving Champneys and ended up staying for several hours. Proper local and we were invited in with open arms (and wagging tails....dogs are part of the pub). Wine was nice and they had F1 on the tv. Pretty much perfect!
Friendly service and they have a pool table and darts to keep you and a friends entertained. I would recommend if you are looking for a quiet and chilled night out with some friends
If you are not a white south English man, don't expect the most basic politeness or greeting.
