A friendly welcome from the staff. The pub was a bit rowdy/noisy. Overall we didn't think the quality matched the higher prices of this pub. The gammon and egg was very oily. The desserts tasted like shop bought.
Just been for lunch for my mums 80th, wonderful food and service! A special mention for the staff who were very happy to cater for my autistic daughter and provided a meal to suit her needs perfectly! Thankyou so much! It made lunch such a pleasurable experience! We will be back thank you again!
I parked up for the night here to break up my journey. The staff were friendly and helpful, fine with me camping there for the night.
I had dinner which was absolutely delicious. Perfect salmon, chips and veggies. They were lovely.
I, personally, wasn't struck on the dessert menu with no sticky toffee pudding/Chocolate fudge cake/crumble offered. So I opted for the Baileys and White Chocolate Cheesecake and I have to say I didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it at all! Horrible texture and no flavour which was a shame because the dinner was beautiful!!
The place was spotless with toilets that were absolutely immaculate!
dogs and children are welcome. The kiddies all got given a balloon to take away which was nice.
Outdoor seating available and enough parking with an extra car park at the top.
Overall a really nice place for dinner and a peaceful night's sleep!
We went to the Old Jack for mother's day.
Food was unfortunately the left overs as we arrived at around 3. We were charged full price for this and a meal was changed to a more pricey dish without them checking the price with us first.
We had 4 Sunday lunches and 4 pints.
I was charged for 5 pints, 3 Sunday lunches and half a duck. Didn't make a fuss on the day as it was mother's day, but I was just baffled at how poor it was and how pricey it ended up being.
Just under £100 for food that tasted like it had been sat under a heat lamp.
Not one to post reviews but this has left a bad taste in my mouth.
We have used " The Jack " many times for meals & have never been disappointed. It is a good freindly pub with excellent hosts.
This is a lovely pub in the middle of charming countryside. On the three occasions when we've eaten here the food has been superb, reasonably priced and piping hot. The 10oz halibut fillet was sensational! One of our favourite places.
Thankfully catered for 4 and a baby last minute on a Sunday. Good and quick service. Lasagne went down a treat. Would recommend!
Came here with family and straight away what a lovely atmosphere staff were friendly and welcoming a nice warm fire and the food was out of this world I had 20oz gammon and cooked perfectly the others had 10oz gammon and the hake fillet which both done perfectly.
