Best KPortal Reviews

Although a lot of previous reviews complained that there was a cold reception, when we called in for lunch we found exactly the opposite. We were promptly and warmly greeted by a lovely lady.
She immediately made us feel welcome and brought us the menu. The menu is chalk on a slate which we found difficult to read as it was smudged. We’re all for quirky, but clear menus are surely important to the business.
We found the atmosphere lacking with no background music and therefore found it necessary to whisper to keep our conversation to ourselves.
The furnishings are pleasant, and the cafe is pleasantly decorated. The setting is adjacent to a couple of fishing lakes with countryside views and access is easy just off the main road, there is also ample outside seating.
We found the food to be nicely cooked and well presented. However, we felt the prices slightly high for a cheese n onion toastie @ circa £9.00 for what it was, had they had crisps or chips with it, that would’ve been a nice touch, but they don’t do chips?
All in all, not a bad experience but to entice us back they should introduce a clearer menu, background music, and of course, chips!
Absolutely spotless coffee shop. 2 lovely ladies serving us. Extensive menu with daily specials and lovely cakes - all fresh and homemade.
Highly recommended and very dog friendly - our dog was very happy with his sausage treat!
Lovely coffee shop and much more ,we had breakfast it was spot on,the interior is very tasteful and clean.
The welcome was very nice and informative about the place. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. Prices are very good ????. There is also a fishery with 2 but very well stocked ponds. Fish and feed yourself at the same time.
1st visit and it is so lovely, have really amazing and professional Xmas decorations up, so we'll thought out and designed. Friendly, great food, prices and very welcoming, thanks Michelle you have a really original cafe here in a beautiful winter wonderland setting.
Michelle advised the cafe may be shut I January so call before you travel out.
Nothing that hasn't been said elsewhere about the lack of customer service/acknowledgement. Very weird. We sat there for 10 mins without being acknowledged and then walked out. Shame since the setting is lovely.
Called in first time today with mum..lovely friendly greeting.
Toasties were delicious.
Really great coffee too
Highly recommend x
Passed here a lot so decided to pop in for a bite to eat.
Very awkward as not acknowledged as we entered,so do we order at counter or at table or is there even a menu ??
Staff just talking to friend in corner for ages.
Lady at counter eventually brought us a slate menu board which was very sparse and over priced.
So we thought just get take away coffee's which took ages to come whilst luckily we had a seat at a table waiting.
£10 for 3 small take away cups of not great coffee
But never a smile or a welcome from anyone working there so we won't go back.
