I stopped in for dinner on a whim with my family. It was my first visit, but certainly won't be my last.
The atmosphere was inviting, the service exceptional. And the food was splendid!
We started with a cheese board featuring three different cheeses and various toppings. For our main courses, I had the seafood special -- a fish filet wrapped around lump crab meat and shrimp, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was outstanding. My wife had a lobster ravioli, and my mom had a salmon risotto.
Although we skipped dessert (the portions are quite copious), we saw a nearby couple sharing a dessert which looked good.
I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent service, enjoyable atmosphere, reasonable prices, and most of all, its delicious food.
Service was great. Steak was a little salty but also very good. I have no complaints. The restaurant stays busy so I'd recommend a reservation, especially on weekends. There is no sound barrier between the bar and the dining room, and the entire building is in desperate need of acoustic treatment. As a result, weekend nights can be a bit boisterous in the dining area
First time and we ready for the second! The food was great! Right price for the right amount of food.
Food was very good. Service was amazing. Cheyanne our server was fantastic. She kept everything topped off and took very good care of my daughter who is gluten free. Cheyanne really made the whole experience. We will be back!
I wanted to love this place but was left very underwhelmed. Let me start off with the positives though, the flatbread we shared was delicious and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful. The service was where we had issues. While the staff were very kind and respectful, it seemed as though people were not assigned to specific positions as it was very difficult to track anyone down and get assistance when it was time to order or get the bill. There was also confusion with the bill and being charged for an entire bottle of sparkling water instead of a glass. Overall there was just a lot of confusion.
The good and service was great. However it was so loud I could hardly hear the person across the table and I had to tell to be heard.
We held our daughter's baby shower at the Gables at Chadds Ford today. To say that it was amazing is an understatement. Carol and Jess were spectacular. They made us feel so special and they were absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing. The place was immaculate. We would highly recommend this venue for any special events you are planning.
I was really excited about finally getting a chance to eat at The Gables after passing by it all the time. Took to the family there for Mother's Day dinner and unfortunately did not live up to expectations. We all thought the food was ok but not great. Tasted like good wedding food which is not what you expect for the price paid. In addition our server made us feel constantly rushed with every interaction. Once we saw the tip placed on automatically, it was clear why. Really had high hopes.
