Best KPortal Reviews
Popped in after hearing good reviews about the food. We were not disappointed, the curries are simply exquisite. It's a quaint country pub tucked away and might be hard for people to find but if you like a curry it's well worth the drive. Staff are pleasant and the chef comes out to see you personally.
A lovely old pub set I'm a beautiful tiny village! From the amazing smell of the kitchen il be back! Just been for a curry today 21 June. The curry is really, really good. All fresh cooked and highly recommended ????????
Lovely country pub with small beer garden out back and a couple picnic tables out front. Lager wasn't that nice out pump (may have just been a one off) and no slim line tonic for my gin. We did eat there. Indian food. Cooked by Harry (lovely friendly Indian chap) who was also Manning the bar at the time, but we didn't have to wait along time for the food. It was rather good! The mogo chips were lovely and spicy, sauces were thick and tasty. The lamb curry was excellent.
Great range of drinks on tap, great traditional pub feel. We went in after a cider festival (gutted that we missed it!!) The staff were 'recovering' from their evening of merriment... were very friendly and let me taste a couple of the ciders that were on from the night before.
Planning to go again and again, and my calendar is filling up with other festivals that they arrange fairly regularly by the looks...
Really nice little village pub,we had a curry on Sunday and it was lovely so going back for another on Wednesday...friendly atmosphere,Harry the landord and Sophie the barmaid are both polite and friendly
First time in for couple of years & it's now Asian run, very nice & helpful & had the best spicy fried fish & chicken Balti - now we know where to go for a laid back good Indian meal!
Fantastic place to visit especially in the summer. Really great events with live music and a real friendly bunch of people. We went to the cider festival and couldn't have enjiyed it more. Service was friendly and fantastic, live music was even better. All round a really great british pub.
The location of the inn is lovely but the curries were below standard. We had two different curries but they tasted the exact same. They were also incredibly oily and we felt sick the next day. The Pilau rice didn't have any sweetness to it and tasted like plain basmati. This was not authentic Pilau rice.
The onion bhajis were also drowned in oil and flavourless.
I hope they can improve and start to taste their own food because it is not authentic Indian.
