Great location and friendly staff, breakfast was always fresh to order and choice was perfect. Would happily stay here again and a great price. Towels and and soap provided although I took my own because I didn’t realise this. Drawers, and a cupboard with coat hangers too provided in our room, tea, coffee and a kettle were greatly appreciated.
Had a great stay here, booked this as a one night weekend away. The hotel is in a great area next to swallow falls, which is a great site to see (entry to the falls is £2pp) some great walking areas around, when I arrived I just asked one of the team members and they directed me to all the great places within walking distance. We arrived a bit earlier than our check in time, and I went to reception to ask if I could leave my car here before check in and they went above and beyond, checked if our room was ready and let us check in early. The room was clean and full of all the necessary items required for our stay. We had our dog with us so there was an extra £10 charge, which is a good price. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food in the bar is lovely, and very well priced. For lunch and dinner we did not feel like we overpaid, and with breakfast included, we thought it was very good value for money!
We stayed in the family room of the hotel for 5 nights with breakfast. Had everything we needed , was clean and all the staff were great. This hotel is old but we loved it and it’s a prefect location for exploring north Wales . The breakfasts were great loads of choice and cooked lovely. Jan was lovely and so helpful in the mornings so we would like to give her a personal shout out! Thankyou for your recommendations we had the best time!
This place is in a beautiful location and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Yes, it could do with updating but we didn't go expecting marble tiles, gold toilet seats, hot tubs and fancy furnishings. If you're looking for a child and dog friendly hotel with lovely staff in stunning surroundings, then this is the place. The hotel staff couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome, particulary Rita and Becca on reception who bent over backwards to help us with anything we needed with a smile on their face. Also Tony and Jordan in the bar and restaurant for taking the time to make us, our children and our dogs feel so welcome when ever we saw them. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Swallow Falls Complex. ????⭐
Lovely location situated across the road to the famous Swallow Falls. The hotel complex caters mainly for tourists and groups who are into walking, hiking and hill climbing. Part of the large car park can accommodate camper vans. The hotel looked as if it needed a makeover and upgrade. My room was clean and tidy but the plumbing needed servicing in that the hot and cold water was temperamental. Breakfast was below standard, Lukewarm food, cold plates, no sauce or butter on my toast. My tabletop was sticky and needed a good clean. My evening meal was a much better experience, Fish & Chips highly recommended. The waterfall attraction is a must but be aware of the £2 turnstile entry fee and the steep steps if you're disabled. Handy if you need a walk into Betws y Coed which gets busy with traffic and tourists.
We paid £20 for an electric hook up point - thankfully, only for one night. The camper van 'bays' were situated right at the back of a huge pay and display car park. The hardstanding was coated with filth and we had to remove dog dirt and rubbish from the rear of the bay before we could hook up. Nice.||||There was no water point or anywhere to dispose of grey waste close to the hook up points. Luckily we were only there the one night or this would have been problematic. We spoke to an older gentleman who had just pitched up after us who was clearly traumatised as he had paid for 2 nights. It was too late for him to find a new site that night - but he was moving on the next day and not staying any longer than he needed to.||||When enquiring about the shower facilities we were told not to bother as they were prone to flooding and dangerously slippy. The shower block and toilet facilities looked like the opening scenes from a horror movie - having to walk down some stairs into what can only be termed a cellar - with dim lighting and dripping water onto a wet floor, haphazardly dammed with manky looking towels. Even if they hadn't been flooded the toilets and showers were desperately in need of an upgrade. I didn't get close enough to comment on the cleanliness as I didn't have wellies on.||||The bar lacked ambience, style and the menu was dull. The staff we did encounter were friendly enough. We decided not to eat there and instead got the bus into Betws y Coed and had a lovely night - although it was a bit of a trek to walk back again. There is a good footpath all the way - but you do need a torch. We had a final drink in the bar at Swallow Falls - but only because I needed the toilet and I wasn't trekking for miles in the dark to the terrifying camping toilets - especially unaccompanied. ||||I suspect this is not a problem of staff shortages as the manager keeps suggesting. It is neglect and a shocking indifference to providing even basic facilities for paying customers. ||||Wish I'd taken pictures.
Was staying in the area and was very skeptical about visiting due to the reviews, however, as the town had no availability in the evening me and my partner ventured up fearing the worst. However, we were absolutely delighted with the service we received. This is thanks to the lady at the bar who made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much for her!! Looking forward to coming back and we will probably make a stay out of it there next time too. Thanks Tanya.
We booked in for a weekend in October. Disabled access is poor and wheelchair users may struggle accessing parts of the hotel. The reception has clearly been updated but our allocated room on first impression did not impress. The outer walls were covered in damp black mould which had seemingly spread into the very tired bathroom. The bedroom was comfortable but the TV had only 4 channels and we never had any heating.||||The hotel has lacked investment and we were reliably informed the current owner in his 70s had been trying to sell the hotel for a number of years. ||||Breakfasts were excellent and Jan was very attentive and helpful. The bar food was hit and miss, our battered fish was not cooked through and the chips appeared to be of the oven type, dry and insipid. ||||It is not an experience, despite its scenic location I would not repeat until there was a full renovation and easy access for disabled people.
