Best KPortal Reviews

Quiet pub in Cymyoy. Friendly welcome from licensee and locals, cash only (no cards). There is a walkers car park close by £2 a visit or if patronising the pub there is a small car park out front. They serve coffees and cake during the day but opening hours are somewhat irregular, so best to check beforehand.
Visited this pub recently at 130pm on a Sunday..where a sign in window said open, where do I start!…like a few recent reviews the landlady is very rude, made it quite clear we were not really welcome, it seemed a massive effort to even serve us….There was 16 of us hiking..most bought drinks/chocolate/crisps though she went on about how this was a local only pub, didnt like dog walkers or hiking leaving rubbish and would probably be shut in a few months?.It is a cash only pub ..I understand she wants people to use pub/benches and buy things..though she really comes across as not wanting to deal with people who are not local which I find bizarre?
Emergency Stop at Coffee and Cake sign! We were not dissapointed, wonderful warm and friendly service, excellent cake and coffee with good views. As driving could not sample ales but bar had great atmosphere .
Visited this pub recently, where do I start!…landlady very rude, made it quite clear we were not welcome, it was a massive effort to even serve us….bear in mind it’s cash only which the landlady will make sure you are aware of in no uncertain terms! …..bad atmosphere, it’s certainly a pub that the piano stops playing when you enter if your not local……avoid this miserable hovel of a pub!…..p.s the outside toilets need a visit from the local health and safety….disgusting!
Good beer when they're open.
No food and no cards/cash only
Great for a base of operation with the walkers car park above the pub with very reasonable honesty box rates.
Pulled up in our campervan to call in for a beverage got out sat outside on their picnic bench admiring the view for less than a minute out comes the landlady who says they are closed and she's moving the benches aside this was 1.30 in the afternoon on a lovely sunny day į asked if we could buy a drink before she closer and she replied no and your not using our benches horrible woman
The pub has a solid stone floor, was welcoming, and the ale we drank was well looked after. We had a good little stop there after some hiking. Yes, it doesn’t take cards, but if you can look past that then it’s a nice little bolt hole for a quiet drink in the Welsh countryside.
Pub closed at 5pm on a bank holiday weekend very strange. Seemed quite annoyed at our interest in going to their pub. Not much of a welcome. Once she found we were staying in the campsite near by, she said they don't serve people from that campsite anyway. Avoid this pub.
