Best KPortal Reviews
We stayed in Tonsai 3 nights and had breakfast and dinner everyday at Capone's pyramid restaurant! The food is super tasty especially the yellow noodles and the Mexican food. The mango shake is also amazing. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. They have low tables with pillows and fans. The staff is super friendly! And of course they have cute cats!
The food here is so delicious! Lots of vegan/vegetarian options. Best Thai ice tea I’ve had in all of Thailand. They also strive for sustainability by using less plastic. This is also a nice place to use WiFi if your hotel doesn’t have power during the day.
You can tell that lots of love went into creating the space. There’s a lot of comfy places to sit and eat or just relax with a drink. The cat theme in honor of Capone is very sweet. ???? There’s even a cat ladder wall in the back.
Great food. Very kind and friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. I ate here multiple times during my stay on Tonsai.
I think we may have just gone at an off time, fairly early, around 9am.
We ordered Cuban coffee, which was decent, and asked for milk.
Unfortunately, the milk came in a plainly dirty baby bottle, and so we didn’t use it.
The Thai omelet was good, but we’ve nothing to compare it too. That said, I did like it, especially with some hot sauce.
The price was decent for the area.
The atmosphere is super cool, we loved all the signs and trinkets. Took a few pics for friends.
The apparent owner was also super friendly.
The other reviews seem awesome and we love the vibe, so will have to give it another shot!
We fell in love with the atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. Beside local dishes and Western breakfast, they offer Mexican meals (what a change around here). The food is prepared with love and precision - especially the coffee. Btw, the pancakes were the best at Tonsai. What's more, the seating is very comfy and clean. I love coming here repeatedly for the calm ambience and good wifi.
Great food and chat with the staff. A little taste of California for home sick kids. "Best quesadilla ever!" - my kid age 13. Burrito was very filling. Loved the open kitchen, see your food being prepared. Metal and glass cups, metal straws, compost food waste. Many things to love and support! We will go back.
This place was fantastic. During our stay we ate here three times, once for breakfast and twice for lunch. The breakfast was simple but exactly what we wanted. For lunch, our favorite dishes were the Fried rice and Pad Thai, we tried both the vegetarian and seafood variants of both. The rice was only lightly fried while still containing a lot of flavor. The Pad Thai was more rich in sauce and also well-flavored. Our drinks were iced coffee, various fruit juices, and Thai tea (pictured already have finished) which were all refreshing.
One common complaint in the other reviews for Pyramid Restaurant is that the host was rude and unprofessional. We did not encounter any of that during our visits. However, we only interacted with a young male server and perhaps did not meet the host. Another complaint is that the non-Thai food is nothing special and I cannot speak to that as we mainly ordered Thai cuisine, save for the toast we got at breakfast. That said, this is a small local restaurant in remote Thailand, their non-local dishes are probably not great. Don't come for burgers or pasta; come for authentic Thai at a great price.
I should also mention that this is an open air restaurant, it will most likely be hot and there will be bugs. We were constantly swatting away flies from our plates during our meals. This did not detract from the experience but I could see it bothering some people.
I came here many times in 5days staying at Tonsai. The food is very good and people working here are super friendly. They have many cats that are super cute ????
