Loved it. So quirky and interesting.
If you're after an Alton Towers type experience, then it's probably not for you, but if you like something utterly unique and the chance to see cod, plaice and turbot having a good old swim around, then go for it. It's great!
An amazing experience - the owner is clearly passionate and extremely knowledgeable, he really cares about his fish. Dogs allowed on leads. £4 entrance fee. Owner feeds the fish in the huge pond so you can get a closer look - a Ray jumped up! - and then the owner takes you into the cave where he has dogfish, urchins, lobsters etc - all excellently cared for and some he has saved from death. Inside is a small gift shop and some more fish in the back - again the owner explained each fish, what they were, how they came about to be there etc. Very interesting and enjoyable experience. There is also a victorian ladies pool which is worth looking out on the way out - again lots of information about this from the owner (ww11 German pow built it). Excellent - highly recommend to anyone passing the area. Thanks to the owner, we really enjoyed visiting.
Fantastic place to visit, really interesting history to the site and a really friendly tour and explanation of everything happening there.
A very nice place with a big history. The owner very nice, showed me and my family around the place talking about the fish and the history of the place. There's a gift shop on site. I recommend visiting this place. ????
Such a brilliant wee place to visit. The tour was interesting and enjoyed hearing about the history of the place. We stumbled across it as we were walking along the beach but it is a wee gem. Would have enjoyed it more if it was warmer but that's March in Scotland!
Very informative and interesting. The guy that looks after the ponds is clearly very passionate and it comes over in the tour. Really enjoyed it.
Quirky little place worth a visit if in the area, was originally a fish larder for the land owner with a female only bathing pool.
Costs about £4 for the tour, the caretaker will come down and feed the fish for a close up.
They take card payments.
The shop sells fishing equipment and a range of snacks and drinks no hot options.
Free parking on site with picnic benches which are worth spending 10 minutes at as the views of the bay are spectacular.
No wheel chair access and about 15 steps to go down which maybe slippy if wet it was dry when we went.
Started our Sunday morning off with a trip to Port Logan Fish Pond and what a great start to the day it was. The owners were so great and enthusiastic about the place and it really made the experience special. My partner and myself learnt so much and had a really great time.
A must visit spot if you’re nearby. The tour was so much fun and we loved hearing all the stories and history, as well as seeing some fish we’ve never seen before. It was also super cheap entry and they have a great gift shop. Thank you very much for having us! ????????
