Just wanted to thank you and your wife for the hospitality you showed us, your special coffee you made was lovely. I'm so sorry we didn't return as promised for breakfast on the Sunday and stay in Bernard our truck, unfortunately events overtook us. We promise though to return after our world adventures. In the meantime we wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Excellent quality food. Has a vegan options (including cakes!) Love the home made soups. Family run business so always made to feel very welcome.
I'm sure the cafe is a nice place to eat in, but if you would like to spend more time indulging yourself in fifty tones of purple and green, they have wonderful selections that can be easily packed in the backpack for later. They provide good advice on where to go as well.
Great location for cafe, and lovely to have at the end of a long day on the hill. Limited seating means you must have food and drink to sit inside. Dimly lit, would be more welcoming if it was lighter. Coffee & cake delicious, super generous portions, we had apple and cinnamon cake, Banana cake and a chocolate brownie, all very tasty and you can pay by card or cash. Current works in carpark mean reduced packing for a number of weeks, you can park along road from entrance along to carpark.
We had a lovely lunch break at this wee hidden gem. We had the soup of the day, a panini and the meal of day. A lovely Italian recipe that tasted fantastic. The owner is very friendly and both felt so cosy. What a perfect wee hidden place before or after enjoying a walk at the reservoir. Thank you for this new moment and we’ll definitely come back.
Cannot comment of the visitor information centre as we were out of season while visiting... However, I can tell you that this location is beautiful with some lovely walks (make sure that you look at the map which indicates the states of the paths... Which range from small pavements/roads all the way through to mud pits!!!!!)
I particularly like the parking honesty box (£2 contribution). I will say that even though we went off season the car park and surrounding area was packed! That might just be that everyone else was also out for a boxing day walk though.
Basically a really good walking day out for all levels of experience!
(And toilets are available too which is really handy too!!!)
This is such an awesome cafe. The staff are always lovely despite the place being busy all the time. The cakes are to die for. The coffee is beautifully prepared and delicious. Lots of seats inside and outside. The fact this is located right by the car park to one of the nicest walks in the Pentlands is simply amazing. Long walk and reward with a huge slab of cake and a coffee :)
This is the place listed on many walking guides as the visitors information center or flotterstone cafe. They do delicious coffee and can fill up your water bottles if you are a little short. The staff are very friendly but is is small so be prepared to get cozy with a stranger or order to go. Behind the coffee express is the start of a few easy to medium grade walks for all ages through the Pentland Hills. They are well sign posted.
