After a weekend of camping in the rain whilst visiting the Island, we very much needed somewhere dry to bed down for the night. This was the last place that was available on the night, and we were so lucky to get it! A gorgeously spacious, cosy caravan in a great location. Very comfy beds, and the electric fire is a wonderful bonus! Had a great stay here, and we would definitely stay again. Our queries were handled quickly and in a very friendly manner by the cool guy hangin oot the windae. SambucaPrawns loves it!
A small bed and breakfast but in a prime location for the ferry. We stayed for 3 night's in the double and single rooms. The host's were very welcoming and couldn't do more to help us on places to visit and eat. It was nice to be hosted by someone from Skye, who knew the history of the area. The double room was not the largest of rooms but having said that it had everything a room should have including being tastefully decorated and of a very clean standard. The breakfast was delicious and clearly freshly prepared by using quality ingredients not the usual heated up cheap quality products! ||We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already booked our return visit for next year. We would definitely recommend this B & B.
I spent four nights bed and breakfast at the Orasay and was made to feel more than welcome. The proprietors could not have been more helpful and gave me plenty of information on interesting sites to visit.
The room was spotless as were the ample supply of towels.
Breakfast order was taken immediately you walked into the dining room and was freshly cooked. It was excellent.
I will certainly be staying there again when I go island hopping.
Returned and spent a week at a caravan. It was spotless and like before the proprietors could not have been more helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thanks for them.
I also ate in their tearoom and the food was excellently cooked and certainly some of the best I have tasted on the island.
Female owner showed us to the room.At first glance it looked okay, small but we just wanted a room for 1 night breaking our journey to Harris. "Double" room very very small, only room to squeeze round the bed. On pulling back the duvet later that evening we realised the bottom sheet had never been changed, black marks and black hairs!!!!! We slept on top of the duvet as we were so tired after a very long journey. Horror again in the tiny ensuite shower in morning to discover more long black hairs in it!! And the bed was so hard the duvet helped cushion us a little. Disgusting place. Would NEVER stay here again. We decided to skip the breakfast ( no option for time, we were told 8am,) 10 to 8 was no sign of any breakfast forthcoming and the (male) owner curtly told us they needed to "set up" and to come back. We left deciding it probably wasnt a good idea to eat there anyway.......... What a cheek to have charged us £70 for staying in that!! There is a fabulous little cafe beside the Cal Mac building that served best cuppa and bacon rolls. Avoid "Skye Accommodation" AKA Orasay B&B at all costs.
We stayed here for one night in a double room with "ensuite" which was in a converted cupboard. We won't be going back or recommending it. There was barely enough room to sit on the loo without banging into the shower. The room stank of fried food, was tiny and was expensive 70 quid a night. There was one tiny packet of biscuits for two of us and no internet and nobody around to ask for a password. The breakfast was congealed and reheated. I had veggie breakfast and the veggie sausages werewolves not cooked. There was no lounge and I could not wait to get out of there. The staff were friendly and it's situated next to the terminal but having stayed in other three star Bnbs on Skye this is definitely NOT. I would struggle to give it two stars. Who did they bribe to get their stars??
Booked for one night before heading to Harris . The room was small but very clean. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfy and room was quiet .|Breakfast in the morning was lovely. Only the second season that the current owners have had the business and they are working hard to grow the business into a success .
We stopped in for lunch at the tea room. Staff was polite and friendly. The Highlands vegetable soup was really good. The Salmon and cream cheese sandwich was good. Would have liked a wee more salmon and less cream cheese. The gals had cheese and onion melts. Two thumbs up. Our only issue was the card machine was wonky. Took several attemps.and 2 cards but got it done. Would not hesitate to stop in again.
Having stayed for bed /breakfast many times over the years before catching a ferry for Harris.Im afraid I found the standards have fallen from previous years. Being supplied with one towel each, no hand towel. Very basic hospitality tea ect and no frill slow service breakfast I was very disappointed with the cost cutting. The caravan was not as clean as it could have been with mouldy curtains and smelly loo and to be told you must be out by 10 instead of enjoy your stay and breakfast will be served at 8am the minute I arrived was not very pleasant. Have stayed at other establishments for only 5pounds more which knock spots off Orasay so come on less of the cost cutting and up your standards a bit more as you are in a very good location for passing travelers
