Overall the guy who served us old chap was very polite let us try few samples! His service was great and very friendly I did see another guy walk out of the back who I asked about the large cake on display he came across very blunt. I think this must be the guy that’s dragged this place down to under 3.0 on google! I think they need to lock him in the back and not let this troll communicate with customers. Overall good quality sweets with great service but there is a bit if you get served by the troll then good luck!!! On your experience
Nice little cake, only thing I didn’t like is the fruit in the bottom layer but that is just my preference. Good customer service.
No happy with customer service.
The man who was dealing in counter was showing face to me and gave a wrong sweets. I didn't see what sweet he was placing in box as i was busy dealing with my child. When i reached home to eat. It was wrong. The shop was not busy so there was no excuses to get mixed up.
Not happy with it. Would never visit that place again and will not recommend it.
I felt really bad visit that now. Am writing a review as soon i seen the box. I couldn't get over the behaviour he showed. Really disappointed
This is more about the service provided. Nirala sells good quality sweets and savouries. Its one of our fav stores.
We went to the Green street, East London Store.
Had a bad experience, service was very poor and rude.
Specifically one elder man. He was serving us in the samosa section. Anything we asked him, he gave us no response, he would just pack it. We asked him what chutneys do you have?
His response was to just pack one chutney without telling us what it is. We asked again and he would look at us, gritting his teeth tight. He seemed angry, maybe he does not like his job or maybe we did something to him unknowingly.
No response to our AsalaamAliakum either. First I thought he can't speak maybe due to disability. Then he spoke to his colleague in what sounded like Bengali.
So we ignored him, went to the till and paid. The young man who served us who was the total opposite, he was nice, happy and polite.
I have not been to East London for many years. But for some reason there appears to be some sort of hostility between certain groups of people.
It almost feels like some sort of strange discrimination.
My one star review is to let this store know, that the workers you keep is very important.
Train them on how to behave and act with customers or it will give you store a bad name.
I had to share this, to raise awareness. If you're a nice person and easily offended when someone is rude to you for no reason.
Then be careful when going to this store.

Rude staff seems to be a theme here. That's exactly what my family experienced. Ordered a quick snack to eat on site. Short man at counter insisted that we clear and cleaned after ourselves. Out of courtesy we don't mind the clearing but throwing us a piece of stinky cloth to clean the table is beyond a joke! And the tone of his voice was so disrespectful.
As for the sweets. They were bad! Very dry and tasted not fresh. The jalebi was OK.
Overall, I don't recommend and would stick to Ambala.
Very rude customer assistants. This was a experience at Nirala Green street where I ordered in some tea rusks and as my child wanted some other cookies too I asked them to pack some of other too and this man so rudely asked me to decide and tell all together whatever I needed to buy. I really can’t believe that they treat customers as if they are doing a favour by serving us. I vowed to never go back no matter how good stuff they have because for me the quality of service matters.
Went to have some snacks, the samosas and pakoras were nice but the service is not good I asked for tap water and they gave water in a red plastic glass that definitely had some fungus in the base I noticed after drinking that, that's disgusting ????
The worst case I ever had. My husband purchases this cake from Green Street branch and it tasted awful, sour though it was a vanilla cake. It had bad odour as well. He brought it as a surprise for my birthday and we already cut it before we realised it wasn't fresh at all. I would have selected 0 star if it was possible.
