£6.40 for this. This is a 'portion' of chips for £2.90. Walk up the road and go to viccy Road chippy or rowson street because this legit just ripping people off.
We visit the place first time and we enjoy our food. Lovely portion for the money. Spend £16 for 2 fish&chips and curry sauce. Fresh cook to order , very friendly staff. Give just 4 star because the place need bit of refurbishment.
Doesnt look very pleasant on the inside. But food is very nice.
Mediterranean Sea, what has become of you?
For years, during trips to New Brighton, I would visit with the family for fish and chips, but today left me profoundly disappointed.
The chips were overdone, with several tasting burnt. The fish was awful, and the batter soggy in areas.
The shop appeared worn, and the floor was in dire need of a thorough scrub, or so it appeared. None of the staff seemed content.
It is with regret that I must award your establishment only 2 stars. I earnestly hope you heed this feedback and that of others and implement improvements for the future.

Wouldn’t give any starts but same old can’t leave a review otherwise,wouldn’t waste your time coming here before the started closing times! Says 7pm! And closed again,waste of time n not the first time this has happened,go somewhere that has correct open and close times on there website and there people that are able to keep there customers..
Fabulous fish and chips on a windy January afternoon . What better way to brighten the day ! Staff made me laugh too . Highly recommended ???? !
One fish cost's £6.50 and the other £4.50. I asked the lady are they both small and she said no they weigh them to watch my friend eat the other and there was no different, a bit to greasy also and the inside is filfy, you can see cobwebs hanging of the roof all over the cooking area
Use to go here as a kid when I took walks from seacombe to new brighton in the 90's. Food was a basic menu but tasted good.
2023. Went here for some food and while waiting to watch a movie at the light. I had this feeling to walk out quickly before I got my food and paid for it. I seen the food people before me were being served. I regret that so much the chips didn't taste good and looked terrible. mostly due to the oil. Filthy work surfaces covered in oil and floors brushed and left a pile of dirt on the floor. The chippy paper was covered around the sides with peas and stuff. The one staff member took their time serving customers continuing to carry on cleaning up.
Never again.
Disgusting! After trying to rip me off by trying to over charge me by £6 I got the yuk home (see photos) would have said it was a genuine mistake but they're always rude and have trued to over charge me twice now. Only went in there because every other chip shop was closed. Never ever again.
