The cream tea and hot chocolate were one of the best we had. The hot chocolate was really good, but if you like it super sweet, this might not be the one for you. The coffee was good but not the best.
Had a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning sat outside overlooking the market place
Menu doesn't state but you can get the breakfasts as either meat or a vegetarian option
Suggest asking if you have any specific dietary requirements.
Visited a while back but only just getting around to writing a review. Staff were so kind and allowed us to sit upstairs even though it was technically closed. We had cream tea and were made to feel very welcome. Thank you for having us.
Popped into Wells for a visit and decided to go here for a cuppa.
We only had the tea cakes and tea but loved the feel of the place, plenty of seating options with comfy seating upstairs and if your lucky you can get by a window and watch the going on outside. The service was polite and accommodating, the food coming out looked good and the cakes looked great.
We'll definitely be coming back to try the food for ourselves as most things looked home cooked and appealing.
A lovely little cafe, polite and friendly staff. Teacakes and cake was excellent, tea and coffee were very hot and of good quality.
We will be coming back to Wells next summer, and this little cafe will be on our list to visit ????.
We visited Kitty Banks Cafe in beautiful Wells on 7th September 2023. It was a hot day and I had lovely chilled water from a glass dispenser (no plastic - great!) We all had lovely drinks and the cheese and ham toastie was divine. Had some fun banter with the lovely staff who were cheerful and obliging considering they were running around in the heat. We would absolutely go again if we are ever back in this charming town!
Walked in to find a single waitress stood using her phone and didn’t say hello.
Picked the food we wanted, wasn’t sure whether it was table service or not. asked girl on her phone to be told it’s not table service, She carried on standing using her phone.
Went and stood by the counter to order, no one there to take our order. Stood and looked at the untidy prep area.
Someone finally turned up and to their credit they apologised and took our order.
Food turned up whilst we surveyed the dirty table and the ketchup stained interior.
Salad looked very sad and was starting to go brown.
Food was average and quality was reflected in the price. Initial service was terrible but got better.
There were 3 or 4 other cafes on that row. Will be trying one of those next time.
Lovely location. We sat outside on market day and enjoyed the bustle. The lattes and hot chocolate were poor quality, but the scones were good and came with generous helpings of jam and cream. I think avoid it if you're a coffee connoisseur, but if you're not fussy and want a good cream tea, then I recommend it.
