Best KPortal Reviews
Nice little bakery but not artisan and to be frank the products didn’t taste all that different to Greggs. The bread is basic; bloomer, barrel or loaf. The pastries have a little too much thick white icing. The mille feuille has whipped cream and jam inside which was a bit odd. The egg mayo sandwich was nice and made fresh. I paid £3.30 for a ring doughnut, Mille feuille and egg bap, very reasonable. The doughnut actually tasted a bit chewy which I associate with being stale but it could just be me. Was served by a lady who wasn’t particularly friendly, nor rude. Getting parking is usually quite easy nearby. Not somewhere I would go for a special occasion or a gift, just for a quick bite if I was local.
Sourdough bread is a must, so are the pecan slices. Great bread, great staff
Have been visiting Golden Crust for more years than I remember and thought it was about time that I left a review. Do not bother visiting the others chains around, you will get the very best crusty rolls (and others if you prefer), bloomers and a variety of other bread loaves in the whole area. In addition, the selection of pastries and cakes is up with the very best around. Finally, Golden Crust is locally owned and run by really lovely people - support local in the community!
Great selection of cakes. The sour dough bread is very nice and tasty. Friendly staff, too.
Love that they do bread pudding. Although it could do with a little more all-spice, more specifically cloves, and a little less cinnamon. Agree with Ben Chord... Lovely jam doughnuts. Light with proper granulated sugar on top not sugar powder. Would also recommend.
Lovely food and the staff are very helpful. Good sized portions and most definitely value for money!
I actually grew up around the corner and I’m known there so they always know what I always get, which is 2 sausage rolls and a chocolate ring doughnut. They’re the only place I would actually eat sausage rolls. And I’m very fussy with food mainly bc of my autism. I love this place. I’m going to London next weekend and I hope to have their famous sausage rolls lol
This is a proper little family bakery, absolutely excellent customer service. Very polite friendly and happy to talk to customers. The best thing about it is the food spot on. My wife told me about this bakery for jam doughnuts and OMG they are the BEST jam doughnuts I have ever had really fresh and soft. On my first visit I spoke to the owner and bought about 9 doughnuts, sausage rolls and a couple of cheese and onion pies. This now will always be my choice of bakery especially for the jam doughnuts. Highly recommended to everyone and especially in todays times we need to support our local independent business we need to keep them here for us. Honestly trust me you will notice the difference in taste.
