Very picturesque view and definitely worth the drive through. There is a small ski resort which has a restaurant that's open all year. There are also great hiking trails throughout the whole valley. But even if you don't like to walk, there are many parking places along the road to stop and awe at the beauty of nature.
It was amazing! Must visit place! Has a lovely cafe at the bottom and the chairlift to the top is fab! It was snowing when we went so please dress appropriately
The entirety of Glencoe in terms of natural beauty is top notch.
It is like a painting in front of you, and you are being constantly mesmerised by it, sucked into it by your own accord.
I would come here again and next time round stay overnight if possible.
Word of caution: winds are exceptionally strong so be extra mindful when standing near the edge of a cliff or hill!
Incredible! In a world full of concrete and urban disasters this place is humbling and calming, it can get busy with people and vehicles so go early enjoy this special place without the masses ????
The Pass of Glencoe is a breathtaking mountain pass located in the Scottish Highlands. It is renowned for its dramatic and rugged beauty, with towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and stunning panoramic views. The pass runs through the Glen Coe valley, which is surrounded by majestic peaks such as Buachaille Etive Mor and the Three Sisters.
The Pass of Glencoe is not only a natural wonder but also a significant historical site. It was the setting of the infamous Glencoe Massacre in 1692, where members of the MacDonald clan were massacred by government troops. Today, visitors can explore the area's rich history through various heritage sites and interpretive displays.
The pass is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, mountaineering, and photography. The scenic driving route through the pass is also a favorite among road trippers, providing stunning vistas at every turn.
Whether you are a nature lover, a history buff, or simply seeking an awe-inspiring experience, the Pass of Glencoe is a must-visit destination that will leave you in awe of Scotland's natural beauty. Glencoe visitor centre has clean toilets gift shop restaurant and exhibition centre car parking is Approx £4 free to national trust members
Excellent drive and walkways with scenic views. It's a 2 hour drive from Glasgow (needs extra care to drive on rainy or snowy days). We can stop by at the view points and get some fresh air, enjoy the views before continuing to go further to Fort Williams or more. Endless mountains and waterfalls on either sides of the road are breathtaking.
We visited twice, once in fall and second time in winter.
Like all highland viewpoints on A82 you need to see it yourself, one of my 2 favorites ❤️ (1st hidden valley or 3sisters). Must stop here to take photo - this is essential view of highlands! You can’t miss this one - even if it’s raining ????️- just stop for 5 minutes to take breaths with you eyes- you will not forget it!
Stopped at this carpark and took the path through the glen towards Glen Etive.
Nice gradual walk to the high point before it drops down into Glen Etive. Approximately 4km to high point.
Path follows the stream, lots of waterfalls feeding the stream off the mountains either side from recent rain.
Beautiful scenery.
Deer feeding on mountainsides.
