I have been here before, but after my last visit I cannot resist to write a review. The quality of the food has much improved since the management has changed- the level of service I got was top-notch and I can confidently say that the 5 star reviews were accurate. Their food has greatly improved- each dish I ate had an abundance of flavour and the quality and customer service was particularly impressive. All in all, Flames is a must visit for anyone looking for a delicious meal- its one of those local gems that you must pay a visit if you are in the area.
Recently ordered from here a couple of times and had no problems. The food was decent and staff friendly. Tried ordering tonight and the attitude of the staff member I dealt with was shocking. Clearly needs more customer service training.
I went in today at 7pm on 21 December. Ordered food. Chips were cold so I went back and explained. Two polite members of staff said they would sort this out for me and give me fresh hot chips- one was the manger and one was called Ali- both nice people and great customer service but then a third staff member approached me and started arguing with me and was rude. He muttered some inappropriate comments in Punjabi which I understand because they were about me so I asked for refund! I’ve never been spoken to like this by any person when Jove ordered food. This third guy needs to be trained in customer service skills because there was no need for his rudeness. First time for me in that place and the last! Absolutely disgusted by the experience!
Absolutely disgusting food and so oily. A friend brought over some food. I had the chicken biryani. This was more like oil biryani. The foil container had oil sitting at the bottom and one mouthful and it was like the rice was cooked in pure oil. The chicken which was two drumsticks didn’t taste fresh.
Biryani is not meant to taste or be oily!!!

Great place to go for a meal with family, great atmosphere and the food is very tasty. Staff are very friendly and give great recommendations if your struggling to decide what to get! The variety on the menu is brilliant something for everyone. The Tawa is amazing and definitely worth trying. Best peri peri chicken you’ll ever have!
This is a place that is extremely deceptive in looks. From the outside it looks a run of the mill takeaway place and it is in a student's area so thats what you would think. And these guys are frankly horrible at advertising themselves. They have the best pizza in Nottingham and the best chicken and lamb karahi. I stopped going to Birmingham bcoz their karahi is that good. 27 GBP for 1 kilo lamb karahi with 6 wholemeal rotis or 17 GBP for 1 kilo lamb karahi for 4 rotis. Their Flames special pizza is absolutely good and worth it.
I’m not sure what’s gone wrong with this place. My food was late and stone cold. I rang to explain I got attitude and NO apology. Terrible service and cold pizza ???? I was told I could have a replacement pizza in 45 minutes it’s literally a joke. I’ll Keep clear until they sort out their customer service issues. Also wrote about it in my recent food blog with pictures included. I might order in the future as a final chance and I’ll also be blogging this.
We received an incorrect order, called to report this, the person on the phone did not accept the mistake and proceeded to argue and shout. It was a simple issue which could have been rectified by offering to replace the pizza. We are regular customers. Very disappointed at the appalling customer service and attitude of the person answering the call. Definitely would recommend customer service training and basic manners. I ended the call as it was becoming a pointless argument.
