Hey you! You there! Are you a WAG and your SO was like 'I want to go to Scotland to go golfing' and you were like 'oooh I'll come Scotland looks beautiful' and now you've found yourself wandering around St Andrews? Maybe you've just bought a book for yourself from Toppings and you need lunch (bc he's still on the course). Literally look no further. Five Acres is a little slice of heaven in an already heavenly place. This is farm ! fresh ! food ! Perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs. So vegetable focused. All of the menu items pair perfectly together so you can easily mix and match. Yummy coffee and treats to boot. You go once and you'll find yourself coming again. Don't skip this! (My personal fave menu item is the burnt miso cake–don't skip it if its in stock)!
Fresh vegetarian food made on premises from produce grown in owners kitchen garden. Cauliflower cheese toastie was fab. Marrow and butter bean stew was great for a damp autumn day. You can buy some of the home grown veg too.
We had a superlative lunch … everything was fresh and delicious, with innovative vegetarian options. We also found tremendous value in the share box combination. The space is cosy, appealing and the tables turn over quickly. HIGHLY recommended!!!!
Fantastic farm fresh, delicious food! My family and I enjoyed their delicious mushroom cheese chart, an amazing chickpea stew with types of flavor I found astonishing, delicious, fresh mozzarella sandwich on focaccia with grilled vegetables, three different kinds of salads filled with wonderful produce, including gooseberries! They use only the freshest produce and the best ingredients. This is farm to table at its best. I cannot say enough about Five Acres! It was the best and healthiest food I’ve had since arriving in Scotland. Absolutely wonderful!
Not a great experience all round. Went in for a hot chocolate to warm up but had to wait 20 mins whilst the one server very slowly cleared plates so the customer she was serving could sit down. Wasn't acknowledged once in this while time. Other severe didn't help at all. Was given my hot chocolate which I took outside with me took one sip and it went straight in the bin. Cold and off milk but couldn't face waiting again for poor service. A waste of a tenner.
The best eating/food experience I had in all of Scotland! Fresh and delicious! I am not always a fan of lentils, but their lentil dish was superb! I would love to be able to eat here regularly, but it is a little far from home.
We love this place - we always visit here for lunch anytime we’re in St. A’s. Much needed concept for this town and everything is delicious. Foccacia sandwiches, and salad bowls are nutritious and super yummy. Basque cheesecake is the best I’ve had!
A perfect spot for a meat free lunch. 4 delicious salads to choose from, soup or a feta focaccia. Everything homemade and the veg is from the owners farm. Charming and enthusiastic staff. The baked cheesecake and rhubarb compote was exceptional
