Lovely little stone cottage completely hidden from the road. Brilliant if you have a barker like my boy. Excellent base to explore from. Lovely little welcome pack. Could do with a stair gate on stairs as we had to put big bags on stairs to stop our dog from going up them. Tv is all run through a fire stick. No phone signal at all but phones all good on WiFi
This pretty guesthouse was perfect for us. We were two families (4 adults, and 3 small children). The family suite is spacious, clean and comfy. It's not the most modern place, but we all loved the antiques and homely feel that you just don't get in most places. Great breakfast too!
Four of us had a 2 night stay beginning of September and we were given the family room which consisted of three separate rooms. One with a four poster bed and two singles, separate bathroom and another room with two single beds and sink. The rooms were clean and very homely, making it comfortable. The whole place was very quirky and steeped in history. Breakfast was amazing, there was a choice of around 6 different breakfasts and cooked beautifully by the boss! The house itself is lovely and owners very helpful. They even gave us a locked/alarmed area to keep our saddles. Great place to stay with easy access everywhere around the peak district. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a lovely stay from Zeena & Adam Blakemore and Sue & Jamie Holdsworth xx
If you are lucky enough to stay at Elton Guest House, you will be warmly welcomed by Chris and Jenny as the perfect hosts. Wonderful period furniture and a variety of objets d'art adorn the rooms. The beds are so comfortable that it was difficult to get up in the morning. The interesting furnishings are matched by the perfect breakfasts. Where else can you have bacon and eggs with three vintage motor bikes? There are no ends that C & J won't go to to ensure a perfect stay. Would I recommend it? I would like to live there!
Five of us stayed in the family suite for a couple of nights whilst visiting the Peak District for my daughter’s 21st birthday. ||Jenny and Chris were excellent hosts and were very helpful when we needed some fridge space. The breakfasts were fantastic and set us up for the day.||I would happily stay here again for longer and with some warmer weather!
Great location for south east peaks. Close to Bakewell Buxton and Matlock. Ideal
The owners are really friendly. The accommodation is really nice and a cute cottage with exposed beams. The village and surrounding area is beautiful. Unfortunately the local pub is closed at the moment, but the Miners Standard is a 30 minute stroll through the fields to the next village and does great food.
The Elton Guest House is a fabulous Peak District bed and breakfast inn. The owners/Inn hosts have decorated with an extensive collection of antiques and interesting, fun things. Like antique candle boxes hanging on every wall. The traditional English breakfast was first rate. The hosts are helpful and friendly. The area has wonderful places to hike. Plenty of scenery to spare.
