Not my ideas of a good chippy. Had jumbo sausage, chips and curry sauce. Chips not proper chunky style. I seemed to get mainly end bits that were rock hard. Sausage okay. Curry sauce, not the usual chip shop style. This place is a Chinese too so probably why it tasted a bit different, almost had a fish taste to it. Won't be going back, sorry.
Despite moving to Cranleigh in 1967, this was my first visit to Cranleigh Fish Bar.
It won't be my last! Excellent fish and superb (non soggy) chips. And plenty of them too!

Bought takeaway 2x cod and chips from here this Sat lunchtime. Very quiet, no food sitting in the warming cabinet and was told it would be 10mins. It was all freshly cooked and survived the 10min car journey home. Chips still crisp and batter too, no greasiness or soggy chips. Impressed! We both enjoyed a lot and would return. Note cash payment only.
Excellent service from an excellent Chinese takeaway. Ordered various items off the menu by phone and it was ready for collection within 10 minutes. Portion sizes which are excellent in size and are comparable with other Chinese takeaways, (no one in my family could eat any more and in fact had left overs which we will use for lunch tomorrow). Highly Recommend this Chinese if you live in Cranleigh or you are simply passing through and need something to eat which is good quality
Only go there for Chinese when New Lotus is closed. Small portion and more expensive. Fish is ok-ish.
The quality remains inconsistent. Sometimes the oil is old and the chips/fish/whateveritis from the fryer is brown and sticky. I've also had some really nice Chinese dishes from here. I only visit if the other chippies/Chinese in the village are closed. Sorry x
