Coastal is by far one of my favourite places on campus! The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference, especially during a stressful week of uni. I’m a big fan of the BBQ chicken, bacon and cheese toastie; it’s so tasty and great value for money. The coffee is also excellent. My go-to order is either a flat white or mocha. There is also a small discount if you bring your reusable cup. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks Coastal Team :)
Coastal and Co. is one of my favourite spots on campus, maybe even in Lancaster! We have been going since it was in the small unit on Alexandra Square and was very excited when we heard that it was moving to a larger premises on campus (still by Alex Square). The hot chocolates are my particular favourite, but the baked goods are amazing (I would highly recommend their almond croissant), and to top it off the staff are really lovely. I visit every Friday morning with my friends for a hot chocolate and breakfast and I always look forward to our weekly Coastal trip! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend a visit to Coastal if you are on Lancaster University Campus or are just in the area and are looking for a new place to grab a drink and watch the world go by.

I would say here has the best gelato in Lancaster University. A lovely little shop with bread, coffee and gelato. You can buy some for breakfast or lunch after have a lecture.
Coastal has very rapidly become my favourite coffee shop on campus. The staff are all so lovely, and always make you feel really valued as a customer. The food is immense (particular fan of the breakfast food!), and the highlight is (without a doubt) the incredible special flavoured hot chocolates! Current favourites are between the Black Forest and Gingerbread flavours, but looking forward to seeing the spring and summer specials! My no.1 recommendation for anyone who finds themselves on Lancaster University campus or in the nearby area.
Cannot praise this place enough, really a 10/10 spot. A perfect little family run cafe on campus for any time of day which has become a regular of mine. Coastal is in a really central location on campus and has the best atmosphere for a quick coffee or longer visits. The hot food is fresh, homemade and comes in environmentally friendly packaging and the pastries/cakes are always really tasty. The staff are very friendly and create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit, even if just for a quick stop.
Cannot recommend this shop enough. By far the best coffee (+ syrup options and milk alternatives), cakes (including vegan!) and hot food (hotdogs, toasties, waffles - and, again, vegan options) on Lancaster campus. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. It's a great environment to work - and people watch - and the music is always brilliant. Quality food and drink at an affordable price with a fantastic cafe environment all bundled into one.
First, why go to the Costa coffee for a ham and cheese sandwich from the fridge when you have a freshly made, 4.5£ with crisps deliciously toasted one here?
Add in a delicious ice cream, mine was raspberry White chocolate (with nice chunk of white chocolate) and cookies.

The shop expanded since the first time. And it is for the better, the atmosphere is very comfy and chill, you can't ask for better when you need somewhere for a coffee/ tea break! Being situated in a central location of the university, you can't miss it.
For summer I highly recommend the ice cream. Although the ice tea is a bit too sugary (mix it a bit, and it will be nice) the hot tea is the best !
I haven't tried the other food yet but there are a lot of choices! Ranging from sweet snacks to sandwiches and hot dog.
Having taken my son to a large number of open days at different universities, I can confidently say that this was my favourite cafe and the best coffee! They were very welcoming and very knowledgable when it came to allergies.
