Great lunch treat with Nan.
Popped over to see Nan and went out for one of her favourite spots for lunch.
We ordered a mixture of dishes from the main menu and the specials, all arrived promptly and nice and hot just what was needed on a cold January day.
We were well looked after by the team and enjoyed a lovely meal.
Staff friendly food was great, and the atmosphere was very oldy worldly. Would recommend coming back. They also hold theme nights and quizzes.
Had a couple of things on the menu not available but it really didn't make much difference as there were plenty of other options to choose from.
The portions were large, not ridiculously so, but when placed in front of you it does cross your mind that you won't be able to eat it all. All 5 of us did! In our group we had a mix of vegetarian, pescatarian and carnivore and we had no trouble finding something to order. Food was fresh, hot and delicious.
We meet regularly and it's the first time in a long while that we all decided to squeeze in a pudding. Someone may even have squeezed in two after we decided to buy one for a memer of our usual group that couldn't make it this time.
All round fabulous.
Perfect pub lunch - mid dog walk- with loads of gluten free choices. Lovely pub atmosphere with friendly, professional and accommodating service.

3 friends booked an early evening (6.15) midweek table. Service was initially attentive, food and drinks arrived within 20 minutes. Service seemed to stop at that point. No one came to ask if we wanted more drinks throughout our visit. We eventually managed to catch someone to order deserts and coffee. After 35 minutes, nothing and no one came. I went to the bar and asked for the bill, explaining that we couldn’t wait any longer. The waitress admitted she’d forgotten to send the order to the kitchen. No attempt to rectify the situation. With so many other places to eat around Bishops Stortford, we won’t struggle to find somewhere that values our custom.
We had a lovely Sunday roast & sweet .Local ale,plus our molly had a treat too.which she enjoyed, Staff very friendly. Great place to go too.
Went to the coach and horses at lunchtime today. Had the seared scallops starter. It was pathetic. Two limp scallops, heaps of jalapenos and capers. And a scrap of "croutons". The Tiramisu was worse. A small shell of fake chocolate. A small glass of coffee with two sponges biscuits and ice cream and cream. Never again! And with a diet coke over £23
Great pub, lovely food and friendly staff. The Monday night quiz was really fun and there is loads of free parking. Highly recommend!
