I can appreciate the need to increase prices but if you’re going to charge £10 for a small fish and chips it has to be fresh. I always ask how long food has been kept on the counter as prefer not to have soggy batter but the cod I was just given literally disintegrating in the middle the batter was so soggy and sloppy and the ends were rock hard as if it was stale and been sat there a week ! Totally inedible. Very disappointing because I’ve had lovely fresh food from here before but reluctant to return after this. Please be honest with what you’re serving customers !
Visited on Thursday 31st August, and will definitely NOT be returning. Ordered sausage and chips, the smallest portion of chips I've had at any chip shop. Jumbo sausage which was badly cooked, burnt in places. What can I say, absolutely shocking. So many better chip shops out there, they will not last selling this rubbish.
Food was lovely. Guy serving either had a bad day or was on another planet. He wasn't rude, just, his mind seemed a million miles away.
Good hot non soggy chips good portion size . Good service good pricing. Can be an issue parking outside even with all those spaces
Food is actually good but the large chips (£3) wasn’t enough for my 12 year old, whereas for the same sort of price in Charlos Pontardawe down the road we get enough for me and both kids. I won’t be going there again for this reason which is a real shame. Service was friendly though
My 4 year old daughter had chips, sausage and gravy from here Thursday evening. She's been unwell since. Sick three times and had diarrhea. I didn't have anything myself and have been fine so it's the only thing I can think that may have caused it.
Always fantastic food but completely let down by the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Eight months after I left the above review, the service is still atrocious. Whenever my wife suggests a “chippy tea”, I have to reply with “Ok, but you’ll have to go in”, as I really can’t put up with their complete lack of customer skills. On her last visit, she told me that she agreed with me about how rude they are.
It baffles me how those two are still employed in this establishment!
Disgusting.... over the years I've watched this fish shop go down hill drastically amongst many other locals watching the same thing... last thing I had there was chicken curry and chips only the curry was frozen solid in the middle????. The chips are cooked but left for ages until needed so you don't get the great fresh taste of chips as you expect. The food in general can be very greasy & the staff's lack of hygiene skills is enough to out anyone off????. Seriously though if you enjoy a bad chip shop meal then this is the place to go, frankly though I'd never go there again or recommend it to anyone
