Decided to come and see how good this place was as we remembered this place being good before (years ago) however this time it was awful batter was soggy chips where scraps of them barely got any full chips and i haven't even mentioned the price of all of this all we ordered was 2 small fish and chips and a small tub of peas and all of this for get this 18 QUID didn't even eat most of it as it was foul atlest the peas where edible would never go back. (The picture is what was left)
After trying a few fish and chip shops around the over the past year of living in the Saltburn area, (all of them disappointing) both me and hubby rate Church’s Fish and chips the best by far! Yum yum! Delicious!
Lovely properly cooked golden chips and a tasty batter on the cod.
Would have taken a photo but we were so hungry and couldn’t wait to try the food. We ate every single bit. Worth the short drive to get them.

We spent just under £30, the scampi is the worst scampi we have ever had. Overcooked and the scampi meat is non-existent! It was full of flour. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Fish was fine, and the service was fine. But there's definitely better chippy's around.
Go here instead of the chippy on the front.
Good hot chips, proper portion sizes, good price.
Chips were garbage, I don't know where these 5 star reviews come from cold pale and greasy
Lovely staff but the small fish and chips that I ordered smelt very strongly of rancid fat. The portion was far too large also as I ordered small for a reason. I could only eat a very small amount of what I was given, due to the sickening smell of the rancid fat. Please change your fat
Really good little chippy, lots of options to pick from, the fish and chips we had were very nice and generous portions
