Have been to Chris Self & Alfie a couple of times and always had great service and done for when it was needed. I’ve even taken my parents mobility scooter there to sort punctures out and they’ve even helped with this! Thank you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AVOID AT ALL! I left bike to clean and adjust carburettor and general service. After 3 weeks they gave back the bike with words “it doesn’t work on 1 cylinder and I don’t know why”. It was driving worse than before so I gave it back to garage. After next 3 weeks it was the same. They ripped me of on 600GBP. During next few weeks I opened carbs by myself and it was like never cleaned. 2/4 nozzles was completely clogged and that was a reason of faulty cylinder! I changed nozzles, cleaned it, put it back together and it started working on every 4 cylinders. Now bike is sold
Always get my mots done there, a proper bike mechanics shop, and very reasonably priced.
Took forever, never got back to me about anything and snapped a bolt then failed the mot for the snapped bolt

Good place. Best place for genuine help n advice in real biker terms. Not all elf n hefty with expensive desk service and computer says this and that. If theres a way of doing something not entirely by the book to save a bob or two Chris and his team will give you the option to think about.
Approachable mechanics who are on the spot to speak to you personally. No to and fro-ing between a booking desk and the inaccessible workshop like many other bike shops.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Terrible experience with Chris self. Took my bike in and he had it for nearly 3 months. During that time he never once phoned me to let me know how things were going, I had to phone him every other week. He didn't fix the issue I had as he couldn't find the part. Turned out he was just looking on eBay. I found a different garage that found the parts within half an hour of me calling them, whilst my bike was still at Chris self. When I phoned Chris self to say I was taking the bike back, not mentioning I was taking it to another garage, he got funny about me taking MY OWN BIKE back. I said he had until the following Saturday and I'd be picking it up then if I hadn't had any good news before. When I turned up to get the bike he gave it back to me in bits, electrics all taped up that I have no idea what for, charged through the roof when all he did was take it apart and give it back on bits. He then didn't give me all my parts back, and was only when I rang a month later, after noticing the bash plate was missing, did I get it back. It had been sat there and used as an ash tray!!!
Initially I had booked my motorcycle in for an mot, however after visiting I decided I would book up for a service and have an advisory item repaired. This was carried out within a couple of days lucky for me I was told it is a quiet time but in a few weeks it will ramp up work wise.
I was very impressed and pleased with the price and service provided by Chris and his team. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my bike and always used the dealership. However the bike came out as it went in they do respect your vehicle. Also by comparison with the dealership their prices are impressive. I can really notice an improvement in the way my bike is running it is far smoother and picking up far better.
I won't hesitate to return next year for my mot and any other work that I need done. Thanks all at Chris Self motorcycles.
