Friendly staff welcoming and lots of chat and politeness but this is what I got when I asked for a large chips. I dread to see what a small would of been 2 portions I got and they were both exactly the same £2.60 per portion and the size was an insult
Chips clearly old, fish cake was basically a scallop with raw potato (barely any fish) one fish cake not even packed up yet paid for!
Deadest chips I have ever had. Awful- looked and tasted like they had been reheated from last week. Wasn’t worth the money
My husband and I visited this chippy on Tuesday 10th October for our lunch at 11 am ish, my auntie pat comes here a lot, but she’s not well so we called here before we went to see her, and the lady who served us was polite and talkative, we’ll be sure to visit again soon, lovely service, lovely hot food,
Served by a polite young lady and food was ready quickly and freshly cooked. I had fish strips and chips which was very nice and the fish was perfect. Price wise for what you can pay elsewhere was extremely reasonable. Sometimes a whole fish and chips portion is too much for one person and a lot gets wasted, so the fish strips and chips with a side of either curry sauce, gravy or mushy peas was just right. I'll be going back sometime.
Fast service. Chips were cooked enough, sausage similar to most fish and chip shops I've ever had one from. I don't often buy food from fish and chip shops (once every couple of months at a push) so it's difficult to rate the pricing in comparison to other similar shops. Portion size seemed very filling for me.
Would I go again? Yes, I'd go again if I was passing and wanted that kind of food.
I arrived as they were technically closed, and the lovely lady let me in and served me. The fish and batter were really tasty and surprisingly at the end of the service, the chips were hot and still had some crispness. Best of all was the conversation with the truly delightful lady who served me and gave me a wave as she drove off. Fabulous service.
Nice & friendly but I ordered at about 4pm and most of the chips tasted liked they'd been in the heater section for hours. They were very dry and chewy. Edible but not your usual chip shop standard.
