I was so close, so close! To giving this place 5 stars and I'll explain why I deducted one star.
Would recommend booking a head as this place is rather small and can get packed out during busy hours, so if you want to avoid waiting 30+ minutes then call and reserve a spot!
We ordered the Tori Karaage, Una-Ju, Aburi Wagyu Nigiri (x2), Sal Ikura Don, Tokujo Chirashi, Salmon Spicy Mayo, coke (x2) and Yuzu Ramune. Total £107.50. Soooo yeah, this by no means is a cheap place to eat. But damn, the food is amazing. Honestly. I would go as far as to say to save up and treat yourself here if you possibly can as the food is very good.
With that being said. I was a little disappointing by the chef making the sushi and food as at one point during survive, they whipped out their mobile phone and was on it for a few minutes before continuing their service.
They did wash their hands after but that kind of ruined the atmosphere for me slightly. There was also a long wait before we got the cheque before we could pay to leave. I know this seems picky but it was almost the most perfect service with food apart from that.
I have been here before and will come again in the future no doubt... After I save up a little money ;)
Quite disappointed at the ‘deluxe’ chirashi costing £25 incl. service charge.
There’s nothing deluxe about it really (okay perhaps some salmon roe but they are not particular good)
I had to pay £13 extra for some otoro to make it deluxe myself.
Go to Japan Center and pay £13 (without service charge needed) and it might even better if not the same
My favourite local sushi restaurant. They update their menu quite regularly so you always have new options! The food is delicious, fresh and well cooked and there is a variety of dishes to choose from.
Reasonably priced good sushi restaurant. It's not worth a trip but if you're nearby, it's one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area.
Great place for authentic Japanese food. Their lunch set is value for money. I usually go to their Ealing common branch. This branch have the same high quality.
I’m sorry to say disgusting :/… I had salmon, tuna and tuna belly and I’ve never had such bad quality fish before. Had the texture of frozen fish that wasn’t kept cold enough and for far too long. Smelled bad and tasted like metal.
Totally inedible.
Very nice and fresh food with nice Japanese Ambiance. The staff were very nice too.
Avoid at all costs! You are better off going to Eat Tokyo!
The previously well loved Atariya Swiss Cottage is no longer what it used to be. Barely any customers and wouldn't be surprised if it closed down soon.
The sushi rice was bland and tasteless meaning there was no taste of sushi vinegar on the rice. In addition, the sushi rice wasn't warm rather it was cold.
For the price, service, atmosphere and quality, I would highly recommend avoiding this place and would recommend going to Eat Tokyo instead.
