This was my 1st time eating here. They close the dining room so I had to order it togo. The server said when i asked about the size of an order of fries "it like a large order of fries from McDonald's". LIES LIES LIES
What yall think? $11 money wasted. But, I'm grateful for the so call meal. ????‍????️????
Stopped here on a whim after my daughter’s aerial lesson. Typical truck stop diner; there were no signs saying to wait to be seated or to seat yourself (and no waitstaff to be seen—she was in back getting a to-go order), so we had to wait as we didn’t want to get overlooked. The waitress was friendly and the place was mostly empty when we arrived, but started getting busier shortly after we ordered. My daughter got the sweet cream pancakes and scrambled eggs, and I got the burnt ends. Her eggs seemed a bit overcooked but tasted good, and the pancake was nice and sweet (smelled almost like birthday cake). The burnt ends were tender and a decent sized portion, and the sides were pretty standard. The dry rub has a nice little kick to it. We finished off with a slice of cherry pie. It was all right, but had a strange pink tint to it that made the pie look like it had been sitting there for a while. All in all a decent meal, all for about $26 before tip.
Used to be far better but over the years the quality has slowly gone downhill. My recent visit I had to wait way too long for my food... the place wasn't that busy. My steak was well done when I asked for medium rare, but by that point I didn't have time to wait for them to redo it. I'm glad they still have a restaurant because most truck stops don't anymore, but the food just isn't as good as it used to be.
Food was good once it arrived.
When waitresses finally came to take our order she said she was also the dishwasher.
Apparently you can only have 3 cups of coffee before they charge you for another cup.
The atmosphere is homey, service is very friendly, and the pork chop dinner was outstanding. I got it with a real baked potato, green beans, and garlic bread. It was perfectly season and cooked.
4/2/22-Our first impression today of this place was trying to find a clean table. Even though they were not busy it looked like the tables had not been wiped down since their last use. When I was growing up I remember making special trips out to this place just for their salad bar which is now gone. It's still on the menu, but says where offered. I ordered a salad which was good and large for the price. My mom ordered their current special which was a spaghetti sandwich. An interesting idea, but the sauce was too runny which made the whole thing fall apart. The best part of the meal was the corn nuggets. The one good thing though is that this is the only restroom in the truck stop that is somewhat ADA friendly. The toilets have tons of buttons but are really low to the ground.
Bout a pound of tips, 2 sides of fries, full biscuits in gravy so I had gravy for my fries. Good eatin.
I don't eat out often, so I eat a Lil more when I do. 10/10 would come back here again, proly not for the strawberry pie though.
Make sure you tip good, Lil lady was nice enough to bring me a 2nd glass.
Nice little place, laundry on site. 2w/3d.
I am not going to do anything intelligent with this speaker, and I regret nothing.
Atmosphere: you can't help the citizens of the area whom operate like NPCs
FOOD: BEST BURGER I HAVE EATEN THUS FAR. Staff is friendly too quite trivially funny. Walking into an alternative reality when you eat it and it taste ggrrreeeaaatt. ????
