As inexpensive motels go the Alpine was fine. Fairly clean, i wasn't there long enough to speak of the wifi...but the TV had enough channels to pass a little time before falling asleep. Nice hot shower. I always pay cash, so i liked the inexpensive deposit. You cant get your deposit back till 9...so twenty bucks is low enough you can drive off and leave it if you're in a hurry. The Alpike is right on 23 so its easy in easy out. All in all a good experience I suppose.
Left as early as possible because we just wanted to get out of there because we couldn’t cancel unfortunately due to the fact we came all the way from Henry County. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The cops came around that evening and told my husband to lock everything up we were in a bad place. The beds were not fit to sleep in as you can see in the pictures. The owners did not seem to care about the fact that this place was totally unfit for people to stay in. The girls that cleaned were very friendly and seemed to care but, the owners would not do anything to improve the place
This is our favorite place to stay. It's the cheapest around and the owner is the kindest person you'll ever meet. Others have covered the basics that it doesn't provide shampoo and conditioner or a hair dryer. Sometimes there are small issues in the rooms but they fix them timely and don't seem to mind at all to accommodate you or switch you to a different room if possible. This place is generally quieter and just as clean as other places. It has the best service with the best front desk worker/ owner around from prestonsburg to paintsville and Pikeville.
All in all this is our favorite place and we have stayed in many places in the above mentioned counties around 40-60 times in the last six years.
I regret not taking pictures of our last room there as it was a very beautiful and spacious room! That's one thing about this place it definitely gives the most space for the least price around as well as all the other great things about it.
We did notice that one of the rooms did not lock from the inside on the balcony front side. While the back side did lock and you are sent that way to enter so you may not notice. I think it was room 206 or 207
Very nice, clean, nestled in the trees. Very scenic view in spring and in fall when leaves are changing. We were unexpectedly delayed for 10 hours, the hotel management was very cooperative and patient. It had a nice refrigerator and Microwave oven. The room was nice and spacious, and very reasonably priced. Would absolutely stay there again.|There is also a little gas station/grocery store with a breskfast/lunch deli next door. |
Although Terry, Mary, and crew are exceptionally Good people, the minions running the show after hours and make it not just uncomfortable but also very disorganized unprofessional and at times make make you feel like you possibly could be in a horror film then again all the illegal activity you start questioning maybe you shouldn't have used the silverware on the counter because certainly a lot of this couldn't be true.??..?? I gave it rooms already cuz it was my one year anniversary
After a long motorcycle ride my friends and I pulled in here to rent 2 rooms for the four of us. ||||Here are the issues in a nut shell:||Carpets: beyond filthy. Stained and dirty. ||Air conditioning: after running for two hours both rooms still over 83 degrees. By 10 pm it was cooler outside then in the rooms and box fans were provided. ||My friend took a shower to cool off and the shower would not drain. It was as completely stopped up. ||Just accepting the shower issue, I went next door to our friends room and asked them to check thier shower. They couldn’t; there was no handle on the shower to turn. It was broken off. ||||At this point my friend went to the manager and asked for another room. He was told the rooms on the first floor have poor air conditioning and that we could move to the second floor. We moved and walked into a much nicer room on the second floor. At least we thought it was. ||||In the morning i took a shower and then i noticed the corner of the ceiling obviouly had a water leak and was covered in mold. This was not a new leak.||||I’m close to sixty and my friends are the same sort of age. We are all well employed, law abiding, family men. In other words, we aren’t some crazy bikers with a grudge. In all my travels I’ve not seen anything this bad.
This was a surprisingly nice place. Very quiet and was happy to find in an area with very few motels. Good location along main highway through area. Guy at the front desk couldn't have been any nicer. And I slept like a rock. I'll gladly stay again next time I'm in far Eastern KY.
We have stayed at this hotel a few times before in the room next to the office. The room was nice with two beds.||||This time we arrived a little bit late and had not phoned to make reservations. Greg was working the desk and was a little surprised when I walked in to ask for a room. We visited for a few minutes and then he assigned us room 236. It is located in the back of the area but still a ground floor.||||My partner, dog and I opened the door and thought we had arrived in paradise. The room is huge with a king size and queen size bed. A large desk area for a computer, a small refrigerator, a microwave, TV and a coffee maker. I think that is everything we saw. But best of all was the fireplace. We didn't light it, it looked like it was a gas fire.||||Two brothers run this hotel, Greg and Terry and their clean up lady to whom we spoke is Mary. Mary is a doll and very full of information of the area.||||With the cool weather arriving, this hotel room would be ideal for staying in by the fireplace to enjoy the warmth.
