If you aren't paying cash, check the charge on your credit card used for purchase. We had a $50.40 order three days ago. Following day $100.40 was the amount taken from my account. (We had given gratuity in cash. There was a line through tip on sales receipt. There was no additional amount to add on.)
I immediately called the restaurant. Before I gave the total overcharged, the cashier (Who was the same who took original order) began apologizing. At first I thought she had caught the mistake herself since she knew the overdraft situation. Then she asked if I could show up yesterday to the store, in the evening to be reimbursed.
A couple red flags popped up this wasn't a mistake. Odd timing, in evening after lunch/dinner rush hours set for pick up.
No automatic return to my card, especially when she discovered her error day before. I was expecting a complimentary meal or something from owner for my troubles. Instead the same worker leaped to tip box when I arrived. She had been collecting fives and ones however long to give me. I ended up with 20 $1 bills and a bunch of $5's.
I've never ever had a return made in cash. Always a return to card. I can't phantom why a tip jar would be raided instead of owner providing refund.
Everyone is scamming these days. Be careful. Double check your payment method final invoices.

There was not much of a crowd On a Sunday afternoon after 2 PM we didn't have to wait very long and the food was really really quickly. The atmosphere is quite colorful and there are huge Mexican style paintings on the walls beautiful artwork.
I ate the super taco salad ???? which was ginormous!!!!
Service is great.
Atmosphere is a little dark.
Food is super heavy on the onion.
Got the Birria Burrito with chips and chipotle salsa. It was great.
The heaviness of the onion is a little disappointing. Everything has a ton of onion in it, then more onion thrown on top.
The food is delicious though, I’m just going to be feeling it later.
This is the greatest restaurant I’ve ever been to. I moved to anchorage three years ago and I probably have been going to this restaurant every week for 2 years. They have great service and the food is DELICIOUS. Their quesadilla’s are so good. I definitely recommend!
The service was kind of standoff-ish. Having only been there 1 time in the past I really didn't know what to do. After the staff asking what we wanted I asked where the menu was (look up and stand by the wall far from the counter). After reading between the rotating (between menu and pictures of said items) television menu boards. I have to be completely honest with you and say the service was lacking but the dang California burrito... When I tell you it's beautiful, I suggest you serve it at your wedding! The taco salad was absolutely delicious also! We will be back! The atmosphere was typical "fast casual" without the happy to see you staff. I seem to remember that from the previous visit. Other than that it's delicious...go eat there.
I thought I would give theses guys a try with Doordash. Food arrived quick, ample portions, authentic Mexican food, outstanding taste and food prep. Completely satisfied, Xalos just earned a regular customer, Damn good food, I will be back for sure. Because I am full and happy.
I love their strawberry horchata. Burritos are fantastic. The price for the tacos is awesome! For $5, one taco is honestly so satisfying. Everything tastes great, and it's fast to get as well. Very, very small wait time for food even in delivering!
Oh my gosh, I had the seafood ceviche, AMAZING! I'm sorry I didnt take a picture before diving in, but the smell of lime, cilantro, red onion and fresh tender cold seafood was too much to resist. This place is the real deal folks. I'm eating there every time I'm back in Anchorage.
